My experience blogging

This year has been so great I can't even explain it. The year has been so exciting and fun. We have learned so many things I can't name them all. We have learned about the traits of writing, we have used tips and, we learned about Blooms Taxonomy. I will never forget this experience and I hope that our blogs stay alive. I hope I get to see our great teacher, Mrs. Davis again after we leave this school. I will miss her a lot. Even though I'm so sad about leaving J. H. House I'm excited I'm going to middle school. It's weird having both feelings at the same time.  :) 

Our Lives at JHH

Many people say that school is your second home. Well J.H. House has been a great one. One of the greatest things that happened to me was when I got chosen to have a blog. At first I thought it was just extra work, but then I started liking it. This has been a great year. We have learned so much and I hope that future generations will have a chance to experience what we have. It will give them a lot of knowledge in  writing. This school has been so great and I will miss it a lot. It has taught me so many great things I don't want to leave.  :(

Some ideas for the group next year is to put the best posts into  a  memory book and share it with every other generation. To show them what they will soon accomplish and to tell them they have a lot of abilities to write.  :)

Testing

When you are testing, you probably don't like it. I don't either, but look at the good sides of it. You don't get any homework, you go outside, and you get to show what you know. I know you still won't like it, but give testing a try.

Tips

1. Make sure your paper sticks to your topic. Always talk about the same thing using different ideas. Do not leave the reader hanging and talk about something else.
2. Make your paper interesting and easy to read.
3. Try to make your writing have voice in it. Put your thought in it.
4. When writing a paper make sure you have a ot of details to bump it up and have fun with it.
5. It will help the reader if you put things in order of events so they won't be comfused. ...........First Draft To Be Continued..............................

One Sad Death

Over spring break I didn't know what to write about.when I heard about the Pope I thought it was very sad and i wanted to write about him.

                                          My Report

Over a few weeks in March the pope John Paul II had been coming out and in of the hospital. He suffered of Parkinson's disease, which made it hard to breathe for him. He also had trouble walking and speaking. On February 24, the Pope had surgery to insert a tube in his throat to help him breathe. When it was declared that the Pope would not recover more than 1,000 people went to the Vatican to see him.they announced that in the Pope's condition he would pass away in less than 48 hours.On April 2, He sadly passed away. He always tried to hope where ever he could. He was the first Pope to visit Cuba. He was also the only one that visited a Muslim place knowing that they were a different religion. We all know that he will rest in peace and even though he is gone physically he will always be with us.

More Tips

A very good tip is to always use vivid words. Never leave an overused  word   in your paper. If you do, your paper will look very ordinary. If you change the words your paper will look great.                                                                                                                                          

   I wrote this tip a while ago and I have thought of some ways to improve it.

Use vivid words! Never leave an overused word in your paper. They are old, and old things stink! You don't want your paper to look ancient or ordinary. Your paper will look fantastic if you bump up some words.

Traits of Writing

Today I read a news story on "Mount Saint Helens Acts Up". I found an example of each trait of writing.

Ideas and Content - The story has a very good idea and it sticks to the topic at all times the paper I clear and it comes alive.                                              Organization - story explains how things happen in time order all the deatails are in sequence. That makes it easy to read.                                                Sentence Fluency - I like how the author of the story sets up the sentences. They flow easily and sound good.                                                    Conventions - the writer uses a lot of punctuation to make things more interesting.                                                                                                    Voice - the quotes from other people make the story have a voice in it.      Word Choice - The author uses vivid words to make the story more dramatic and better. Ex: rumbling and scrambling.

My Tips

Tips are very important to any writer. That's why I came up with some to help you.

1. When you are writing a research paper make sure you have enough information. That way you can include a lot of details and make it interesting. If you can't find enough information put your own thought into it. Change the topic only when you really have to.

2.  A very good tip is to always use vivid words. Never leave an overused  word   in your paper. If you do, your paper will look very ordinary. If you change the words your paper will look great.

  3.   Another good tip is to arrange your sentences so it will look like somebody with great knowledge wrote it. It will make your teachers very excited to know that you can write so well. It will also help you have more audience.

Atlanta Shootings

On March,11 Brian Nichols was on trial he shot two policemen, one judge, and a court reporter. He took over a woman's apartment at 2:00 A.M. He said he didn't mean to hurt anyone, but I think he is still guilty. She had a chance to call the police, but she didn't because she believed that he was going to turn himself in. He said he was guided to her because she was an angel. On March,12 the police found him on her apartment and he surrendered. What would you have done if you were that woman?

Great Tips

Today I read a tip on Tips for Young Writers it is very true.

"Re-write, re-write, re-write. Tear every sentence apart and analyze it. Does it flow? Is it passive or active? The best writers use an active writing voice as much as possible. So instead of saying: “She picked up the pencil,” say instead, “She grabbed the pencil.” Don’t sweat it if it seems to take a century to create something good, that’s how you learn. And with experience the writing process becomes easier. Promise."

Another good tip is to always check your work. It is a good idea to use a dictionary while you are checking it. You may also change words to make it more exiting. You can look up words your not sure about and it will help you write a good story. It will also help to read it aloud that way you can hear how it sounds.
