Ah, so we finally have finished the two movies, the play, and then the book. Not necessarily in that order, but we've finally finished.
And now, to get to the interesting discussion. Who's to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death?
Weeeeeeeeeeeell, thinking logically, they're to blame for their dumb selves dying. It was their own impulsiveness and hasty actions that chose their fate. Think about it, if Romeo hadn't rushed Juliet with kisses, hadn't made her proclaim her love, hadn't planned to marry her, hadn't killed Tybalt, hadn't attempted to kill himself (thus putting the Friar in a bad position) hadn't rushed off the moment he heard a shred of bad news, hadn't been selfish and put the apothacary in a bad position, hadn't killed Paris, hadn't drunk the poisen, he would still be alive. What a dumb guy. Either you could blame horomones, or the simple fact he's dumb. I'm going with both.
Then, you add in Juliet. She's so dang adament to NOT marry Paris, the moment some other guy comes around, she's all over him. If she hadn't let things slide, hadn't told lies to her family, hadn't kept secrets, hadn't attempted to kill herself (thus putting the Friar in a bad position) hadn't put herself to sleep because she was selfish, hadn't killed herself the moment things took a turn for the worse, she would still be alive.
Now, look at those two paragraphs. Do you notice anything similar? ^_^ I do. Both of their experiances are very, very similar. These two people are the dumbest I've ever seen. This is why they died. Their own stupidity is their downfall.
Now, that's not to say that the friar, the nurse, the parents, and the family weren't to blame. If the Friar had just come out with the secret, slapped some sense into the two sobbing idiots, and told everyone, it wouldn't have ended that way. If the nurse hadn't told Juliet to marry Paris, Juliet wouldn't have tried to kill herself, thus making the Friar give her an alternative. If the parents hadn't hated each other, they could fall in love without the idiotic secrecy and death. If Tybalt wasn't such a hot head, he wouldn't have fought Mercutio, thus making Romeo go crazy and kill him, and he wouldn't have been banished. If the dad hadn't been dumb and tried to make Juliet Marry Paris, then Juliet wouldn't have gone crazy and try to kill herself. If the Prince had a brain, he would have ended the fued earlier, by the means of law.
^_^ If they had brains though, the story wouldn't have sold a copy.
Everyone's to blame. That's because they didn't have brains, and they let their emotions rule their lives like a bear led by a hook in the nose.
... That's all for now.

So... love is in the air. It's an idea, so it's light enough to be there. If it was anything heavier, it'd likely fall and crash to the ground. That's why teen relationships don't last. They mix it with a bit of sand and contention, and it's splintered on the ground like shattered wood. Ah, that's why we have so much drama.
So, I've put some Saliva Lyrics on here to go with that topic. It's titled, Rest in Peices. It's a wee bit sad, but hey, love isn't always the happy smiles put on by the hormonal. There's a darker side.
Look at me, my depth perception must be off again
Cause this hurts deeper than I thought it did
It has not healed with time
It just shot down my spine _ You look so beautiful tonight
Remind me how you laid us down
And gently smiled before you destroyed my life
Would you find it in your heart
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make it go away
And let me rest in pieces
Look at me, my depth perception must be off again
You got much closer than I thought you did
I'm in your reach
You held me in your hands
But could you find it in your heart?
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make it go away
And let me rest in pieces

It's amazing how people have more than one voice. It's like paradox really. They could speak with a loud aggressive voice when really they would usually speak softly, almost as if afraid of others hearing. A mean, rude person might actually be the shy quiet kid who would rather stay home reading all day. You never know... so here's my poem. I'm not the best, so let's take a looksie...
Don't
Stay silent Stay silent
Make noise
Don't make noise
Make sure they hear
I don't want them to hear
What I have to say What i have to say
I would much rather be
I don't want to be
The girl in the middle
Known for bittersweet words
Than the girl on the side
I want my silence
One who is talked to
Don't talk to me
Not one who's ignored
Ignore me
Because it's maddening
Even though
And I can't stand
I can't stand
The silence. The silence.
So, what do you think?
It's one person, and she's split. When I say she's in the middle, you know the loudest part of the crowd is the middle. Where one says one thing and means another. The "person" on the right is in the middle, but the "person" on the left doesn't want to be there. She wants to be left alone.
OK kiddos, there's the explanation...

Everyone thinks I'm a mean, lazy girl who does nothing but think of ways to do avoid doing something.
And this is the truth. But, that's just a half of a layer. There are many things about me you don't know. (I would hope so, considering the fact that this is an internet sight, and you people reading shouldn't know me. That's just creepy).
But, I've been seen as a loud person who laughs and talks a lot.
though when i'm not with people I know, or people I don't particularly enjoy to be around with, I'm quiet and more to myself.
The part that makes me mean is a crowd. Basically, I play for a crowd. What's the point of doing something that no one will see? Call it stupid, but there's no point in being mean if no one is going to be mean back, or know you're a mean person. It's like kicking a dead dog; it's pointless.
When someone's mean first, it gives fuel to the flame, i suppose. People say I get mad very easily, but in actuality I don't. It's when they're stupid or say dumb or annoying things about me or my friends. That's when I can easily get mean without feeling guilty.
Oh yes, people think that I do things without guilt, or on a whim. I over analyze things and worry over things too much. It's very annoying. And I feel guilty.
Haha, believe it or not you kiddos.

Well, to answer the above question I'll ask one of my own. Does anyone from the ages of 12-17 really know what love is? To answer this, I must say that NO... they do not. With the topic of Romeo and Juliet I think that they did indeed act irrationally. They belived in love at first sight when they probably didn't know hardly a thing about each other besides their names, and they were supposed to hate each other.
But that's what's exciting, is it not? Time and time again, love was shown as something that was romantic when it wasn't allowed. We've seen the plays and we've watched the movies. Hundreds of actors have portrayed adoration and passion, and do you know why it was so appealing to so many people? Because it wasn't supposed to happen!
And why not another question? What are the main symptoms of love? You can't think straight, you keep blushing, you laugh too much, or you become too quiet, and all for the simple fact that you like someone else! But the biggest hint to yourself that you in fact like someone is that you can't think straight around them. This means that you'll do almost anything for their attention, and most times, it's a completely irrational! There's no real excuse for your actions, and most people fall onto the excuse that it was because of love.
In the case of Romeo and Juliet, suicide was the stupidest thing that both of them had ever done. They had no real reason to kill themselves because they were simply acting on horomones and two months later, they would be broken up and she'd be with Paris! That's the whole problem with hormones! And that's also the problem with getting married at such a young age.
Love makes you do irrational things that you'd never do. And in the case of Romeo and Juliet, it was the last thing they would ever do.
:P

I'd like to make a statement about the comments made on Smith's ninth grade bloggers. A lot of them made good points on what they had to say, but I must say that from what I've read, I only agreed with one person. I can't recall her name, but she said that if teachers could teach evolution then religion shouldn't be a problem. We also shouldn't just learn about Buddhism or Hindu. We should study all religions. The thing is these days, that we're soooooo worried about offending other people with what we say. There's always the phrase, "politically correct" and we're so hepped on it that we fail to see that by freaking out with other religions and the like, we sometimes deny our own beliefs. In our classes, we deny our religion for fear of someone from a different place having a cow.
This country was founded by Christians. We don't go to India and get offended when the people speak of Hindu and practice it blatantly. In their schools they talk about it, and we don't get offended. Yes, we are a free country, but if we forget the fact that in the pledge we say everyday, "One Nation, Under God," because we don't bring religion into classrooms but we'll bring other theories (evolution and the like) then there's no point in being proud of what we are.
Also, it's people's CHOICE to be offended. We aren't offended unless we want to be. It's something we choose to do, not what we have to do. Stop getting offended.
And to add the icing to the cake, I have to say that Mr. Wallace seemed to be a much worshipped and loved man in this classroom. He seems to only have one side to the show, but added little bits and peices that way it didn't seem like he was one-sided. I don't like the sound of him.
I guess that's all.
:) Rachel

Hm, I haven't been here in awhile. So, we were told to type a blog about what it means to be green. Honestly, I don't know what it means to be green. So, I'm going to have to wing it here...
Green. The mixture of blue and yellow. A bit of dark and light, you could say. The good old color we scribbled with when we learned that two colors CAN make one. I loved that day. It added a new enlightenment in my 2 year old life. Not that there was much to enlighten. I was two.
So, what does it mean to be green? Besides a mixture of yellow and blue, or sickness that should be avoided carefully, I'd say that green would be more in tune with nature. Where you actually care enough about the environment to try to do something about it instead of sitting on your couch in a dimly lit room wasting your already tiny brain away with mindless video games that truthfully don't make sense because these days they don't bother with a plot anymore. Insert potato chips next to you on the couch, and we have a winner! A winner as in, the standard American these days.
But, what should we do to avoid the dark circles under our eyes and twitching thumbs? Really, I think that we should take responsibility for our own area. If everyone cleaned up after themselves, there wouldn't be a need for this seemingly endless blog. Keep reading, it's almost over.
And what's worse than us not cleaning up after ourselves? The hypocrisy that follows the trash throwing. The fact we can't throw away a can of soda because the trash can is SO far away (though the many "future basketball stars" prove otherwise) and then tell others that they should clean up after themselves shows our own stupidity on the dang matter! And then, when we say, I'll do it later, everyone in the darn room knows you won't!
America. Is. Lazy. Simply put, we are LAZY! We need to clean up after ourselves, or else we're going to be swimming in our own garbage. And for some people, it's hard enough swimming in water, let alone their own sewage. EW.
And then, I was just told I rambled. So, leave a comment if I ramble. But I really don't care. I like that I ramble.
