Slowly, but surely, we are making progress in the world of blogging! I really like your template designs; of course, you can always change them if you want. I am enjoying reading not only your posts on "Why it Matters" but also your comments to others' posts. The topics are wide and varied, but they all somehow relate to our natural environment. Remember to comment to at least two other bloggers' posts. Let the blogger know that his/her voice has been heard by rephrasing ideas in the blog that made you think, feel or learn. Ask at least one question in your comment so as to continue a conversation and deepen thinking.
The next two posts you compose will be about 1.) the watershed and 2.) nature in literature. For the first one, discuss what your reactions are to the watershed unit. What have you learned? Has your perspective changed about our most valuable resource? I know that I have learned that water is part of a deeply interconnected system. What we pour on the ground ends up in our water, and what we spew into the sky ends up in our water. As you discuss the watershed, share your brainstorming with regard to your watershed project for English 9. (I'm still waiting for the Green Stream Band to get going....come on, Joshua!!) Second, discuss how the natural world plays a role in the literature you are reading. Are you reading fiction or nonfiction? What is the author's intent? Would the literature be as effective without the inclusion of the natural world?
Looking forward to hearing what you have to say!
