A Blue Flyer - Chapter 1 - AD

Bud talked about a blue flyer that he had saved.  He said the paper was starting to wear out from him checking it out over and over.  He liked checking to see if there was anything he hadn't noticed before.  There's a blurry picture of the man Bud suspects is his father.

My Response

I can sense the look and feel of Bud's flyer.  It made me think of a note one of my students had written when I first began teaching.  It was about him learning to read - that "aha" moment when it starts to come together.  Tony had been a struggling student but was about to overcome that!  That's one of those great moments for teachers that keeps you going.  I still treasure that worn and crinkly note.

An aside here - I'm still trying to decide the best way to title our posts.  I know we need the chapter and in the department we are noting the role. AD are my initials.  I'm hoping for an "aha" moment to make this clearer to others. Think with me and if you have any ideas, share.

Comments

I completely understand his attachment to his flyers. Over time I have been told to keep important documents to help remind me where I have been and what I have done. Although Buddy did not know its exact importance, he did recognize that it was kept for a reason. I wonder what significance the other items in his suitcase might have.
