My class work
I have many school subjects like language arts. I am learning about how to make singular words singular possessive and to make plural words plural possessive. I have also learned about proper and common nouns. One thing that is interesting to me is subjects and predicates. One thing that I have trouble on is on naming word that are prepositions. I wonder if there is way to figure more about it out.
Do you have problems with some part of speech?
Hi Anni,
It sounds like you are learning lots about parts of speech in Language Arts. You asked if I had difficulty with some part of speech; I think I have difficulty sometimes with adverbs and adjectives, when to use good and well. Have you studied them yet?
You said you were having difficulty with prepositions at school and you asked: "Do you have problems with some part of speech?" Can you tell me which words are prepositions in this paragraph or in the paragraph above this one?

I'm delighted to hear you are learning these things! I have a horror of people who misuse apostrophes - but if you're learning how to use correct punctuation now you will probably not be one of them. ;-)

I am curious if this will be helpful for you or not. Let's talk and then you can give me some feedback. Thanks for sharing what was difficult for you because that's how we learn together - we share and we care! :-)

Anni,
When I was in the seventh grade, my teacher made me do something terrible. She made me, along with the rest of my class, memorize all the prepositions. We memorized a few at a time. I admit, that at the time I thought it was silly, but some day I need to remember to thank her because I would have trouble with prepositions if she had not done this. Also, it is a great way to impress people. Sometimes we can figure things out, and other times we simply need to memorize them by heart: aboard, about, above, across, after, against, along, amid, among, around, as, at...
