I love your examples of idioms. I used to teach Mexican immigrants English and they always had the hardest time grasping idioms. Did your class research the origin of these idioms? How do you think “bite the bullet” ever became a common saying?

Actually Blythe no we did not research the origin of those idioms. I don’t know but I think it may have became a famous saying because a lot of people may have gotten in trouble so that may have been a reason.
