Hurricane Charley rampages through a small town that depends on ice, and freezers, because of the burning hot tempertures there. Families lost their homes, their things, and most of their clothing. Churches are destroyed and schools are also gone. Only a little bit still stands after the disaster. The families try hard to fix it and to find ice to survive.
I wunder how many hurricanes have occured in the last two years. Do you know how many hurricanes have occured?
Hi Patrick, wow what a hurricane season we've had! Florida really got pounded this year and I'm sure it's residents are glad that hurricane season is coming to an end. I'm not sure how many hurricanes we've had in the last 2 years but I know we've had at least 6 this year. I would guess we've had 12 in the last 2 years. let me know if I'm right.

I have always found the naming of hurricanes an interesting process. So who decides what names are used each year? The World Meteorological Organization uses six lists in rotation. The same lists are reused every six years. The only time a new name is added is if a hurricane is very deadly or costly. Then the name is retired and a new name is chosen.

Hello Patrick,
Hurricane season has always been interesting for me. When I was little I wanted to be a meteorologist. That means I get to study the weather and possibly present it on the news or a weather station on television. Your information about Hurricane Charley was very interesting. I guess I never thought about how residents on the Gulf Coast needed ice all the time because of the hot weather. I grew up in New Orleans and I have seen quite a few hurricanes as I grew up there. It was quite scary at times but sometimes we had lots of fun preparing for the storms.
Keep up the good writing.
