To change the sound levels select the section of the audio you want to amplify and then select "amplify" from the [effect] menu.

You can also [fade in] by selecting a few seconds at the begining of the file, then select "fade in" from the [effect] menu. You can do the same thing at the end by choosing "fade out."

It does get quicker and easier as you do more of this.

Here's something neat to try: have two tracks, one voice one music. Shift click on the grey control boxes to the left of the tracks to select them both then select "quick mix" from the project menu -- now you have one track with all your sounds in it. ;-)

By the way, this suite of podcasts about the impact positive comments have had on your kids just keeps getting better. With your permission, I'd like to use them to teach others how to comment effectively. Another piece of the puzzle is falling into place ... Thanks Anne!

Thanks so much for the help Darren. And of course you may use the podcasts to teach others! Pay it forward! I can't wait to get some time to get back to this! Thanks again, Darren!

I think using the podcasts to teach others is a wonderfully altruistic idea.

So do it!

I don't know about the technical problems on which you need advice. There is always a way to condense a sound file, though, and make it smaller.
