Lately gas prices have been at a record high of about $3 a gallon! This is the 11th day of gas prices being record high in many different states! And it doesn't look like prices are going to change very soon! The latest reading from AAA Wednesday showed the nationwide average for a gallon of regular unleaded hit $3.221 a gallon, up from $3.209 on Tuesday. The national average has now been above $3 a gallon since May 4, a string of 20 straight days. The AAA national average now shows prices up 3.8 percent over the course of the last week, along with an increase of 12.9 percent over the last month. So it looks like if your driving some wheres for a vacation, your going to have to give an arm and a leg for gas!

Hi Katey,
You've absolutely nailed a huge problem for many Americans these days! Folks who commute long distances to work are really at a disadvantage with the high prices too! We are now at 3.49.
Do you have any advice for the millions of drivers in our country?
Best,
Lani

Katey you picked a topic that is on a lot of people's minds. I found a fuel cost calculator on the web at http://www.fuelcostcalculator.com/
Wow! I calculated a possible vacation trip for this summer. You are right - we are going to have to give an arm and a leg for gas. I will use this calculator and it will help me prioritize my use of gas.
I liked your good descriptive writing! Keep it up! :-)

Katey, you have picked a great topic. I am in Surrey Canada. Gas here is hovering at about $1.27 per litre Canadian. I converted that to cost per US gallon which worked out to $4.81 per gallon and then converted that from Canadian to US dollars. The grand total is I am paying $4.44 US dollars per gallon of gasoline!
I wonder if rising gas prices could be a good thing? Perhaps it will force us to find cleaner, renewable resources.
But in the meantime the rising gas prices are going to begin to push up the price of everything that is transported like food and manufactured goods.

I was really impressed by this post Katey. Not just because you seem to have zeroed in on a issue that effects everyone, but by the amount of detail you included.
You must have done some research to get all the information you shared in your post. Where did you learn it all? What were your sources?
Maybe it's just me, but when I read something like what you've written here and it's backed up by linking back to good sources I develop more trust in the things that the blogger writes.
A wonderful beginning. Keep it up Katey!
Cheers!
