Bringing in the Geometry Chapter 5 JF

I think it is important for kids to understand what first, second, third and fourth dimensions are in order to have any cocept of what the fifth dimension is. Students could get into four groups and each group could make a project about a dimension. The students could also write about how they think the characters in the story would travel through each dimension.

Curiosity hopefully does not kill the cat - FW

The book that I checked out of the library is old and faded.  I can't really decipher what the picture is on this particular cover.  Just out of curiosity I conducted a Google.com images search using the keyword "A Wrinkle in Time."  There were more than eleven pages of pictures of the book, the author, and of other pictures that may have the keyword wrinkle or time.  A great activity for a classroom would be to have the students design their own covers for the book.  They could take one scene from the book and illustrate it or simply illustrate any thought they may have had while reading.  These book covers would make great decorations for the room while reading and studying this book.  Google.com image search yields wonderful pictures for any topic.

Science Fiction - Activity - SG

I found some great activities on the net that could be adapted to the book! Go to the link below. You will find that activity #2 can be adapted as a technology project. Instead of making a brochure from paper, they could use publisher. I think the students would love to use publisher . The activity could also be done through Kidspiration or Inspiration. The students could work in groups or independently.
