I have learned ......

In the weblog group I have learned so much. I have learned how to correct what I have written and made it make sense. All the tips I have learned I use them. I think my writing has got way better then when I started. Even my readers have noticed.I hated writing so much ,but know that I know how to wright better I am liking it. I think next year when I am in sixth grade the fifth graders will keep on writing. Every year more and more people would have weblogs and they will keep writing. Who knows maybe middle schools would have weblogs for us to use next year. I think not just fifth graders should have weblogs.Fourth graders and thired graders are old enough and responsible enough to have weblogs if they learn. I am so sure some of them hate it ,but they will  learn and grow to love it like us. I have learned so much in webloging this year.

C.R.C.T Testing

How do you feel about testing?  Well I don't want to  be rude ,but I hated it . Its great that we get to show what we are able to do,but its really boring! It would be better if it wasn't that hard and that boring. We get tested and get judged by that one test.We should also be tested on something else than that test.  We get tested sometimes on stuff we don't know.

Science

Math             This are all the subjects we get tested on.

Reading          They are not that hard but very boring.

Social Studies

English                                                                             .

Pope John Paul ll

Today we had to turn in a report that we had over spring break. I had decided to wright about what had happened to the Pope.

                                            My Report

Did you hear the horrible news? I was very shocked when i heard what had happened.I could not believe it! He had passed away.He had already suffered a lot of many different things , but he had survived all of them. They had announced before his death that he had been receiving nutrition from a tube placed in his nose.John Paul had Parkinson's disease. Which meant it was going to be hard for him to breath, walk, and speak. Did you know he also had surgery to insert a tube in his throat help him breath. He had survived a lot of things. For example 14 years ago a man tried to kill the Pope.Doctors also had to remove some of his intestine. Lots of Catholics were praying for him to get better. I think John Paul II was a very strong man , but we could not decide his future. Lots of Catholics were very sad when they heard the news, including me.

Better Tips

I wrote a  really good tip, but to me it did not sound interesting. So I wrote it again.

                                            My First one.

Check your spelling!! Checking your spelling helps your writing a lot. I sometimes forget to check my spelling ,but I always try. It messes your writing if you forget.

                                             New Tip

Most people forget to check their spelling. Check your spelling! Reread and you might find some mistakes. If you ever miss spell something YOU SHOULD alaways try better next time in checking your spelling.

The 6 Traits of writing

I just finished reading a story called "Too Young To Work" . After I read it I noticed it had the 6 traits of writing. The 6 traits of writing are idea and content, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions.

This questions you should ask.

1.Ideas and content - Does my idea go with the title? Does it make sense?

2.Organization - Is everything in order? Is it where I wanted it to be?

3. Voice - Did I say what I wanted? Is it in my own words? Does it make sense?

4.Word choice - Did my wods make sense? Did I use descriptive words?

5.Sentence Fluency- Did my sentences sound complete? Are my sentences able to be read?

6. Conventions- Are my words spelled right? Does my paper make sense?

I found some of that in the story I read.

Atlanta Shootings

Have you heard about Brian Nichols? Well, on March 11, 2005 Brian  Nichols in court ( he was accused already ) he had to go change and that's when he took the officer's gun and killed 3 people. He killed a judge , a police officer and a court reporter. After he left he took a drivers car, he also injured him. Later on march 12, 2005 he was found thanks to a lady's call. He was in front in some apartments. They say later that day they found another body who is believed to be a victim of Brian Nichols. That day was the worst day for Atlanta ,Georgia. everybody was worried.Of course, he was arrested.

Tips

I just finished reading some tips at Tips for Young Writers. I liked a lot the one about the sentences.

Her Tips                                                                Re-write, re-write, re-write. Tear every sentence apart and analyze it. Does it flow? Is it passive or active? The best writers use an active writing voice as much as possible. So instead of saying: “She picked up the pencil,” say instead, “She grabbed the pencil.” Don’t sweat it if it seems to take a century to create something good, that’s how you learn. And with experience the writing process becomes easier. Promise.

                                          My Tip

You should reread EVERYTHING you write !!!!!!!  Why?   If you don't you might miss spell something. You should think about it.
