Have you heard the news? NASA Scramjet breaks a speed record. It went ten times the speed of sound at 6,800 mph! The supersonic jet only lasted ten seconds. To go at that speed it gets to scoop up chunks of air. NASA hopes to create a scramjet that can take off by itself. Also, they hope to make a plane that can be shot into space. Any jet that is supersonic has to be flown over the Pacific Ocean because it makes a loud noise that is louder than tazmanian devils. How would you like to operate the invincible scram jet?
To be honest, I think I would be better off staying here at House with my students and computers than operating a scram jet! But isn't it amazing what these scientists and astranauts can do with technology? Would you be interested in working for NASA one day?
