Amber's Sea of Articles

Reflecting on High-Schooler's Weblogs

I was particularly impressed by Mallory and Claire's comments because they expressed how they felt about the other person's writings. Kristen's also got my attention when she talked about Amelia's interview request. All of the writings were tempting for someone to read.

I think I could learn to expand my vocabulary and use more descriptive words.

Alligators & Crocodiles

Alligators and crocodiles are not the same. Alligators have short fat snouts and crocodiles have long skinny snouts. They both carry their babies in their mouths! Both lay eggs and are called reptiles. They spend most of their time in the water. They are prehistoric animals. All alligators and crocodiles live for a pretty long time. They eat medium sized animals like deer and zebras. To get food they attack and sink their teeth into the animal's flesh. They try to drown the dead animal and come up out of the water to swallow.

First draft

Sometimes my17 year old sister and I fight tooth and nail over stupid little things When my  mom buds in she tries to scratch the surface. When we go crazy and hit the roof. When that happens we try to forgive eachother and straiten up and fly right. Sence my sister is older I sometimes throw in the towel. Sometimes its just a feather in the cap to bring us back to normal.

About This Site

Hi! My name is Amber, I'm in the 5th grade

Note from Amber's teacher:

Amber is a member of a group of fifth graders (ESL and native-English speaking) who are using weblogs to become better writers. The class weblog is Thinking & Writing Wrinkles.

The server for the blog where this site was originally hosted has become unstable. This blog has been transfered from manila software to typepad software so some transfers may not look as well as the original site did but the content written by Amber remains the same.

My First Post

I really like Ms. Davis's group because I am really interested in the program. I  promise I will step up to the plate like you said we need to do. I think this would be a great opportunity to help me with my writing grades. I think this group is really fun . Ms.Davis has really inspired me with the idioms. the idioms are also real fun. I hope that I will be chosen to be in Ms. Davis's group.
