ABC Blook of Blogs

 I don't believe it's the end of the year. We are fifth graders and will definitley miss Mrs. Davis's class. Friends, computers, laughter, blooks( blog book), and more! Emily, Jenny, and I have worked on a little topic about Music & Art being taken out of the schools. We did all right on it but we had it done in just 5 days.

  Mrs. Davis greeted us with tons of laughs. The  class has been making an Abc Blook that we have made and we are giving you a sneek peek.

URLs, utilities, using time wisely, understanding, ups & downs, unfortunately, united

up against the wall, up to par

There are many ups & downs when using weblogs. Fortunately, we use our time wisely and can come up with good leads. Unfortunately, we go through a zillion lousy leads to get there. Fortunately, we get to explore lots of URLs and there is dynamite dialog during this time. We have learned lots of utilities. Unfortunately, sometimes we still are up against the wall with not having enough time to make sure our writing is up to par. We think we have gained an understanding of what it takes to be a good writer. There are more ups than downs and we are united in our thinking that weblogs rock!

Weblog reflections

   We made our own weblogs and did posts about the news, our life, vacations, fun things to do, family activities, and more idioms. We got to talk to friends and teachers. We had some fun when Mrs. Davis introduced us to SuperThinker. She used to give us responses and clues so we could guess who she was. We are still trying to figure it out. Mrs. Davis said she would tell us who it is by the end of the year but some of us thought it was Mrs. Mateling, one of our fifth grade teachers. I really want to find out who it is by next Thursday. We had a lot of research papers and we had to do it for homework.   We are now in a nice class and we are now busy as beavers.  When I started I had a lot of mistakes and now that I was in Mrs. Davisªs class I have gotten a lot better. Thanks to Mrs. Davis I am better than ever. Before I had three sentences and now I have paragraphs that are short but to the point. I have never seen long writing except for authors, but still they write books.

We had lots of fun this year and I hope all the others do too.

Derrick's Thoughts

  Today we were keep working on our ABC book. Some of the students got to draw pictures with the letter Mrs. Davis gave us. I was drawing Murphy who is a blue virus, has red and orange hair, and can destroy computers. My drawing is a little small but I can get it to size again. Mrs. Davis Said that I should use a fine point pen and trace over the objects in my picture.

                                That's what we did today.

D= disk

E = Evaluate

F= Friends, first draft

H= Hard drive

I= idioms

J= jobs/ Jotlist

K= k5

L= loudness

M= Murphy is let loose in the lab

N= new students

P= Project/ project your voice

Q= Quickly do our work

S= SuperThinker

T= Teacher

V= Vocal noise

Y= year of computers

Z= Zaxlies

Disk: D is for disk that we use if we have loooooooooooong stories that would take 1 hour to re-type. Using a disk makes it easy when we have long stories, all you have to do is... you first type, than you  save it on the disk. Than you go to the weblog page where you are going to put it,paste it, than post, and finally post to home page.

M: M is for Mouse potatoes which is different from the idiom couch potatoe. A mouse potatoes is someone who actually keeps thier hand on the mouse of the CPU wich means they really love to be on the computer.

P:  P is for projecting our voices when some people talk very SOFTLY. Mrs. Davis wants all the students to project their voices.

Going to Tennessee

           During spring break, I am going to Tennessee to visit my Aunt, Uncle, and my cousins. I'll be going to Tennessee on Saturday around 12:00 P.M. and we should get there at 5:00 P.M.I am going to miss my friends but I am going to have a chance to see my cousin who's in the Navy. My Aunt Linda will probably make squirrel stew or something regular for dinner because usually they eat squirrel stew.

I hope that I will see my cousin after this visit!?!

I'm passionate about Bowling

          I'm very passionate about bowling and that is what I think about all day except for schoolwork. I'm saving up money by helping in my neighbors yards for $10 an hour and at home $5 an hour. I have saved up exactly $166.00 for an Inferno ball, which cost $209.13. When I'm up on the lane ready to throw a strike and when I throw it..." BANG!!!!" All the pins go flying and I have gotten another strike. When I get a strike, I'm filled with joy but if you look at me I have a poker face. The highest amount of strikes in a row were 5 strikes. I can't wait for the bowling party at the end of the year, because I want to see who is going to the bowling alley for the party.

            What are you passionate about?

This story made me think about my first time bowling. I only got 2 strikes. How did you get so good?!?! Well there were a couple of corrections you can make and those are...   Making the story as long as you can. The way you cant tell if you are really passionate about somthing is if the words just seem to flow out of your soul.   More discribing words needed to be added. Some could be When up there on the lane, ready to get a strike and when I throw the hevy freshly polished sphere... or somthing like that.   All in all that was a really great story. KEEP ON WRITING!!!!!!!!!!
