first draft- The Bracelet

Today is one of those days that I get into trouble. I was dead as a doornail when I had lost my moms 14 kt bracelet with diamonds all around it and 3 colors of gold. When my mom asked where was her bracelet I felt like a dead duck. I told her it  was Down the drain. When I told her what happened she felt down in the dumps, because she had that bracelet since she was 15yrs. old.I felt like eating my own hat. My mom said that every cloud has a silver lining. I felt much better, because she said that she still loved me.

Our journey to go!

The Wright brothers daring adventure in 1903 started a new age of travel. On December 17, 1903 it was cold and windy in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. It was not a good day to go to the beach, but they were very determined brothers headed there anywhere. They hoped to get their latest invention off the ground and they invented an airplane. His team also studied the original flyer which now hangs in Smithsonian national Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. It has been a long time since the first airplane was invented. Now there's helicopters, space shuttles, sattelites, jets, and there may be UFOs.  Who knows!

About

Note from Jacqueline's teacher:

Jacqueline is a member of a group of fifth graders (ESL and native-English speaking) who are using weblogs to become better writers. The class weblog is Thinking & Writing Wrinkles.

The server for the blog where this site was originally hosted has become unstable. This blog has been transfered from manila software to typepad software so some transfers may not look as well as the original site did but the content written by Jacqueline remains the same.
