What a great lesson plan by Victoria Pavlopoulos!
Project Name: Using Algebra to Prevent Forest Fires
Description of Learning Goals and Standards: Introducing the students to summation notation, the difference between humidity and temperature and how to find the humidity and temperature. Reviewing intercepts and slopes and applying them to real-life situations. Applying this information to determine how to prevent forest fires.
QCC Standard: Identifies the slope and intercepts of a linear equation.
QCC Standard: Solves problems that link concepts to one another and to practical applications using tools such as scientific or graphing calculators, computers, and manipulatives.
QCC Standard: Solve problems throughout this course that involve:selecting appropriate approaches and tools, using estimating strategies to predict computational results, and judging reasonableness of results
Thias was a great a post because it said it could help prevent fire and how to stop from making a fire.
¡Hola Juan! ¿Como estas? Estoy bien. (I'm trying to keep up with my Spanish. I'm a little rusty at times, but I'm trying.)
Thank you responding to one of my posts. I'm glad you like the "Preventing Forest Fires" lesson plan. I just hope my future students will like it.
