Blogging in the future!!!!!!

I think blogging will still be here in the future, except it will be different! Every one will blog about different things that are happening all around the world! The world would be able to communicate with one another! We always have trouble with talking  to other countries!!!!! The world would half way have peace. The high schoolers could talk to the children in elementary school!Every one  would have a blog . We could talk about our problems on it,  and still remain anonymous!!! That way no one could  tease some one about  their problems!!!!

What I Think About Blogging

I love weblogging! It is so cool. At first I wanted to drop out of the class, but my mom, my teacher, and my sisters would not let me drop out! So I decided to hang in. As the year flew by I began to realize my writing was better! Now I try my hardest to do my best. I love coming each and every Thursday! Writing means everything to me! Its my sun and my moon! I think it would be great if all the other classes got to be in weblogging, too! Not only could they express them self ,but they could learn to become better writers. I love to put my voice in to it! It is so cool to type my thoughts down on paper! I would love to one day come in this school and see the entire school blogging. I think that would be the most exciting thing I would have ever seen! I am excited to go home and get started on my work! I write all my most intresting thoughts down about what I am writing. I ow it all to Mrs.Davis and Mrs. Meeler, because they have taught me how to use vivid words, how to bump up my writing , how to use comment starters and much more!

Thinking about Test Taking

I think that we should have finished earlier, but I guess it was pretty easy! Social Studies was the only one I had trouble on.       I like when Mrs.Hooper said everyone who was here during testing would get to go to the perfect attendance party! It was a piece of cake, besides I was a little nervous on the Math and Reading part. It was because if I don't pass those two tests I will have to go to Summer School! That's what scares me! I am glad it is over.

More Tips for Writing

  1. Ideas and content - choose a different topic on each writing so that you don't make you writers bord.
  2. organization- make sure you put your details in order or else you might make your reders confused!
  3. Voice-  ask your self if you put your very own voice in  your writing or did I use some one elses voice.
  4. Word Choice- You might want to make sure that your writing flows, because if you don't your readers would  stop reading it.
  5. Sentence Fluency- make sure your sentences our complete. Like in sience when you want a light to come on you have to have acomplete circle!
  6. Conventions-You want to make sure you stick to you topic or else it won't make sence!    First draft to be continued..........................

Emotinal Feelings

I absolutely loved the story "Hattie's Birthday Box" ,because a little box made a HUGE difference in Hattie's life! I was astonished by what she said in the end. She said," Spencer your gift was the best one!" I was very emotional in the middle of it . i was happy to find out that Hattie was not mad at her brother. I loved the way Ms. Conrad used vivid words! I think Ms. Conrad is an excellent author. Hattie was a very tough lady. the box helped through everything from her crops burning to her child drowning. I would have opened the box by then, but she realized that things could get even worse. She tells Spencer, her brother, that the empty box was more than any piece of jewelry. He finally realized that she was thanking him for the box! I enjoyed reading this story. I would love to meet Ms. Conrad one day!

Too Much Rain!!!!

Wicked weather pounded western regions of the U.S. last week. La Conchita, California, suffered the greatest losses from the deadly storms. Heavy rains triggered a huge mudslide there on January 10. Part of the coastal town was buried in mud and wreckage. Thirteen homes were crushed, and 10 residents were killed.

"We have seen the power of nature cause damage and despair, but we will match that power with our own resolve," said California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger last Wednesday while visiting the town.

According to the National Weather Service, December 27 through January 10 were the wettest 15 days in a row on record for downtown Los Angeles, California.

Rainstorms caused heavy flooding in many areas. The most severe occurred in Saint George, Utah, where 18 homes were destroyed or declared unsafe.

From December 28 through January 11, up to 19 feet of snow fell in the Lake Tahoe area of the Sierra Nevada range. Weather officials say nearby Reno, Nevada, had the second-largest snowstorm in its history. They also say that the storm clouds may have a silver lining. As the snow melts this spring, it may reduce drought conditions in the West.

This story has a great deal of voice in it, but I'll be nice and give you a great example.” Wicked weather pounded western regions of the US. last week.

This story is very organized! An example is” December 27 through January 10”. One example of ideas and content is “We have seen the power of nature caused damage and despair". The author used a good choice of conventions. One example is that the author stuck to the topic and didn't have any spelling errors! That person used fantastic word choice. One example is that their writing kept flowing. This person has good sentence fluency .They said,” Heavy rains triggered a huge mudslide there on January 10”.

Tips for Young Writers

First of all you should always check over your work, because if you don't check over it you would have a lot of mistakes. Your teacher would think that you didn't try your best.      Which brings me to my next tip.You should always try to do  your best in writing . Even if you don't know anything about it or the problem has never happened to you!You can make it up. As long as it sounds real to you and a classmate or who ever is reading it! Then you would be proud of yourself!     My next tip is you should never ever let any one say anything bad about you writing. As long as your happy with it and someone else like the teacher or your parents like it, you should never let anyone else judge it or correct something you know is right! It's okay if someone told you that you misspelled a word, but not if they don't like it just because of a silly mistake!

Write Tips

Re-write, re-write, and re-write. Tear every sentence apart and analyze it. Does it flow? Is it passive or active? The best writers use an active writing voice as much as possible. So instead of saying: “She picked up the pencil,” say instead, “She grabbed the pencil.” Don’t sweat it if it seems to take a century to create something good, that’s how you learn. And with experience the writing process becomes easier. Promise.

I think that is a great tip, because we children hate to re-write, re-write, and re-write. We like to things aside till the last minute. As she said grab the pencil don’t pick up the pencil! You should do what your told when to you’re told to! So you won’t have to worry about weather or not you have done it.
