Weblogs & Learning

I think in middle school we should have weblogging because it helps people to learn things that they don't already know about! It would also help us to read what other people think and to comment on it. I think it would be an excellent way for us to explain ourselves! We could get the news out to the entire school. I think it makes teens not talk as much in class as they usually do! Teens could tell each other what to study for and what is coming up. It is  kind of like text messaging but you can't carry it around!

News Flash

Hi,

This is Lacey reporting from Mateling News!

first up. Is North Korea droping out of planned ,international discussion about its nuclear programs? North Korea is infact dropping out! They admit to having   nuclear weapons, they say their for self defense! Is Bush going to do anything to North Korea  for having the weapons?

Condoleezza Rice went on her first trip overseas  as United States' diplomat.

The Bush administration has issued a new warning to Iran.

The House of representatives has  said, "Yes"  to a law that would make it harder for illegal immigrants, to get their drivers' license.

This Lacey saying have a great and wonderful day!

What I have learned!

I have learned a lot and I owe it all to Mrs. Davis and Ms. Meeler! The first thing I learned is  that we were going to be doing this for the rest of the year. Then I  learned how to fill the whole page with words. Next I learned how  to copy a sentence from someone elses  weblog then you paste it on your weblog and write about it!  Then I learned how to put vivid words where they  are needed. I have learned how to use typepad. It is very fun . You get to type what  you have written about on paper. I have learned how to  write about almost anything. I have remembered the Taxonomy saying. It is Keep Calm At All Sports Events! The  beginning of the words stand for Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Sytnhesis, and Evaluation. Finally I have learned how to weblog. Have you ever found out about something then went to your weblog and written about it? If so why!

Spilling the Beans

I got this story from Ashley's story.  Here is  some of what Ashley wrote.

Spilling the beans is when you give away a secret. You can make people really when you do that. I know my sister did that on my birthday, too. I laughed at her because she said I always spill the beans. Mom told her not to tell me, but she did any ways. I use to spill the beans all the time! My family would bribe me in to telling them especially my mom. They would yell at me for it. Now I have learned to keep secrets to myself!

Dear Teacher-To-Be

Hi, my name is Lacey! I am in fifth grade. I am 11  yrs. old.  I think  Georgia could  use a teacher like you. I want to give you my thoughts of  what a teacher should be like. I hate when teachers pop a quiz.  Maybe you could give the class a warning  of when you will give a quiz. You can make learning fun. Show some type of emotion! My teacher right now is always emotional in Social Studies.

Make sure  you set some type of rules up! Some teachers are way too strict!  Mrs. Mateling  is always making me laugh. She takes  something we do not understand and makes it very easy to understand.

I have to leave for an appointment. I wish I had more time to write. I think it is fabulous that you are going to be a teacher. I hope to hear from some of you!

Idiom Story

Eric is on the hot seat everyday in math. His friends say he is a stick in the mud! Eric is always stirring up a hornet’s nest at school and, he is always hitting the roof, too. His friends say he needs to hold his horses, because he is hot under the collar. He is always gliding the lily. He is as dead as a door nail in math. He is a little slow on the draw, but he is always coming up smelling like a rose. On a Friday report cards went home and his mom said “If you bring home another F you’re not allowed to go or do anything that he wanted”! He was in shock for the rest of the day because he had found that he made an F!

Clinton's Presidential Library

The library is the 11th one. It cost $165 million dollars. 4 U.S. presidents got together for a celebration in Little Rock, Arkansas on Thursday. They honored former president Bill Clinton at the dedicated ceremony for William J. Clinton. About 30,000 people attended the ceremony. It has abut 2 million photographs, 76 million pages of documents.

List things in a library besides books!

My writing has improved

                                                      My writing is improving

Over time my writing has improved. Now I use vivid words, and a stronger vocabulary. I need to improve how long my writing is. I have improved a lot since the first day of school. I love answering my comments! You get to make your own choices on what you’re going to write about. Did you know that you get to write on your own weblog? I own one. It’s called Lacey’s weblog. Sometimes I get confused with punctuation. I usually start with a good sentence. (Not done)Laceyblog_1
