Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone rested well and had fun with family and friends during Thanksgiving break.  Christmas break is coming soon but we've got a 3 weeks to learn just a few more things before we take another restful break.  All of the students in 3rd grade can look forward to learning more about animals and their environments.  We'll start with food chains and then move into different ecosystems that are found all around the world.  In math we'll begin  MULTIPLICATION!!!!!  I know you're all excited about that. There are lots more subjects and things to learn so activate that brain and lets get to it!

A+ on the science test

I just wanted to say how proud I am of Dionicia.  She recently made a 100 A+ on her science test on animals!  She was able to do this by paying attention in class and studying at home.  A perfect score on such a hard test deserves a little recognition.  Also making 100's were Miguel and Tyler.  Way to go guys!

Alberto Gonzales

President Bush recently said that he would like for Alberto Gonzales to take John Ashcroft's old position as Attorney General. I think this is a good move for the President and the country.  Hispanic-Americans need more representation in our government as well as examples of succesful individuals to look up to.  I hope that Mr. Gonzales's appointment will help build a bridge between the President and those who didn't vote to keep him in office.

Four More Years

Well, I haven't kept up with my weblog like I intended to and Mrs. McCullers has reminded me of it often.  So here are a few thoughts on current events:  President Bush has been elected to serve for 4 more years and it appears that, according to our Kid's Vote results, most students agree with the outcome.  Whether you like President Bush or not it sure is good to have a quick decision and know who is President without a lot of lawsuits and voting problems.  The last time President Bush was elected there was a huge fuss about it and we didn't find out who was really President until the Supreme Court told us 5 weeks after the election.  Personally, I'm glad its over and I hope that President Bush will do a good job.
