On Thursday October 14, 2004 I was selected to be in a special group of weblogging along with other 5 grade students. Mrs. Davis is the teacher. She told us what we were going to do. We meet every Thursday. Mrs. Davis said that by the end of the year we would be excellent writers. Then she said that we would become Blooggers. We would design our own home page. We would write details from the news. We went to some of the Blooggers home pages and we read current events. We pasted the current events on microsoft word. Then I wrote a comment about the work I choose to copy. Then we were finished.
We also had to decide which of the Blooggers homepage we liked the most. My partner was Alejandro and we told the other groups why we liked the weblogs. For homework we had to write a summary. Then we were done.
We went into some of the Blooggers home pages and wrote facts on one of our own. I chose an event about Saddam Hussein. He had spoken to the Iraqi people on Monday’ March 23, 2003. That’s when Bush declared war. Then we printed our work.
Also other people would get to look at our homepage and write comments. The homepage would be like an imaginary friend. Mrs. Davis is going to help us become better writers. I think I will do good with the work and the homework. I think this is going to be an excellent year!
I'm becoming a blogger too! Mrs. Davis has been showing the third grade teachers how to design our own page and it is very exciting. It is really going to help my kids with their writing skills. You'll have to check it out! Keep up the good work, Marcos!
