My Final Post

Well, this is my last post with my buddies. We've been through many things together. We were like a family.  I kind of feel sad because you won't be able to read my posts and that I might never see Mrs. Davis again. I learned many things like improving my writing. The year went flying.  I wish this would never end. I remember all the good times we had. I am going to miss the weblog group. Thank you all for being such wonderful audience.

Learning From Writing

It looks like this is our last month weblogging. My learning has gone higher then I expected. I learned that you did to pass my knowledge to other people. Tips and words of wisdom have helped me in my writing.  Weblogging  has taught to work with others and improve my communication skills as well as sharing knowledge with the audience. When I'm blogging I feel like a brand new person. We all learned that having a choice matters as well as having a voice.  I also learned to think outside the box which means that I experimenting with writing. My wish for the future of weblogging is to  let other kids blog.

My Opinion About Weblogs

I have just finished reading Inappropriate Comments=  Teachable Moments posted by Mrs. Davis. It made me form an opinion about why weblogs should be allowed.

I think weblogs should be allowed in schools because it is part of our education. Weblogging has made me a better writer and thinker. Sometimes we get an inappropriate comment but that doesn't slow us down. It is not the end of the world because someone has called you a bad name. You can't stop that from happening. When we get an inappropriate comment we learn a lesson and that lesson is not to be like that person. We also learn responsibility on the Internet. If you were in a race and someone called you a bad name, would you stop? I think not. Martin Luther King Jr. was called bad names all the time and it didn't stop him from fulfilling his dream.  Thinks like this happen all the time, even out of school. So, please don't shut down weblogs.

Learning,Learning,and Learning

"Oh," no my head is going to explode! It exploded because my brain overloaded with too much knowledge. I am going to tell you about all the learning that has been happening  since September. The very first thing I learned was what we would be doing through out the year. I learned about weblogs and how we be using them. I thought about weblogging,as when you put your mind, heart, and soul onto your writing. As we  went on we learned about writing our posts on typepad and how to use the current event sites for information. I would also have a voice or when you express your feelings and thoughts through  your writing. I had trouble proofreading my work. This was one of the things we learned to do. Proofreading helped me a lot on my writing. It also helped me communicate better with the audience. The next thing we learned was on how to comment on our people's weblogs. Mrs. Davis gave us a sheet that had comment starters . For example,This made me think about.  This also helped me understand commenting. The next thing we learned was Blooms Taxonomy a short way to remember Knowledge,Comprehension,Application,Analysis,Synthesis, and Evaluation is keep clam at all sports events. After that we learned hyperlinks or chain links. Hyperlinks are when you take a paragraph or sentence from another person's writing and give credit to them. You also respond to the sentence. Weblogging has changed my life in many ways. One of the changes is that I have my own voice. Weblogging has also made me a better thinker and writer. I what ways has weblogging changed your life?

Learning About Weblogs

Today was awesome. It all started when we opened up our weblogs. We were so shocked to see how many comments we had. I was surprised to see how many comments I had. I liked all of them. Those comments had just made my day. I responded to a couple of them. Then, Mrs. Davis opened up the class weblog. We also learned about blogging and how to read someone else’s words and respond to them. I thought it was super. After that we went to Teachers and Technology weblog. On that blog there were links to the GSU student blogs. I found interesting writing and responded to it. Mrs. Davis was so delighted to see us work really hard. She decided to teach us how to link to one specific weblog so other students and teachers could go there too and read. We also learned about Hyperlinks. Hyperlinks can be made on each weblog by using URLs. I was so thrilled about it. I like blogging because you have a choice and a voice.

Here's what Bethany said on her weblog:

I think technology should be used in the classroom as an advantage, yet not taken advantage of.

I agree that technology should be used for learning. Most classrooms have computers that teachers use the internet to teach students. For example, my fifth grade teacher used the internet to teach us about the body systems. She showed us a video about glands. It was funny and I watched it more than once. I did well on the test because of the video.

My story about weblogs

MarcosblogHave you heard about weblogs?  I am  going  to tell you about my experince. On Thursday our teacher chose me to be in the weblog group I  was  amazed! Mrs. Davis told us about weblogs. We talked about using vivid words. I have a little tiny problem with it, but we have practiced. I pondered about it for a little, and I came up with some good  ones. I  have trouble with organization and thought provoking questions. I felt that the audience wasn't going to read my blog. I thought that this was going to be a super awesome  year. I'm also trying  to make my paragraphs  longer. I  try to put as many vivid words as I can. We also have choices about we were going to write about that made things easier for me. Weblogs have made me a  better writer. I have a voice in the internet and people can read what I think. I think weblogs should be written by everyone because people can make a better writer out of themselves. Mrs. Davis gives us tips such as comment starters like- this made me think about,or I wonder why. Mrs. Davis is an excellent teacher she never gives up on us. She has never yelled at us. Would you want to be a weblogger?   Why or why not?
