Tips,Tips!,and more Tips!

Wow! There is a cool wedsight called Tips for Young Writers. It gives good tips to make your writing fantastic. I put some of them write below.

1. Re-write, re-write, re-write. Tear every sentence apart and analyze it.

2. Does it flow?

3. Is it passive or active?

4. The best writers use an active writing voice as much as possible. So instead of saying: “She picked up the pencil,” say instead, “She grabbed the pencil.”

5. Don’t sweat it if it seems to take a century to create something good, that’s how you learn. And with experience the writing process becomes easier. Promise.

If you have anyt tips be my querst and types some down.

Black History Month

I like this report because it tell about  a true American hero. It also tells about his famous speeches. For example Martin Luther King Jr. wrote " I have A Dream".

This is a quote which Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech.

"I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream...a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character"

I think he really put his heart into his speech. I like the speech because he writes not about himelf but for every African American who has had problems from the authorities from being a different skin color than others.

Probability In Students Life

Probability is used in many different grades for students. I like the post Claire posted about how students use probability in different grades. She tells how they use it. She tells the QCC Standards for each deffinition of 6th,7th,and 8th grade.

This is what Claire wrote:     QCC Standard (grade 8) 38- Identifies possible outcomes of simple and compound experiments, and predicts or describes the probability of a given event, expressed as a rational number from 0 through 1.
QCC Standard (grade 7) 37- Conducts and interprets a compound probability experiment.
QCC Standard (grade 6) 45- Explores the relationship between actual outcomes (experimental probability) and expected outcomes (theoretical probability).

I really like what she wrote about.I think she wrote it the way she thinks students should use and it would make there writing better. She said it will help them better.

"Whew" I Have Learned A Lot!!

In the begining of webblogging I thought I would get what we would be doing. But now I've learned  more about writing it isn't funny. Now,I would love to do this forever. I've learned my voice counts. I've learned a lot.

On the first day of webblogging it seemed so hard I thought I would never get it. Then we started to write writings of current eventsand many more events thet go around in our life. Then I learned there were posts that we typed in typepad. When we posted thenm, student, teachers, and many more people from around the world comment on the post. When they comment on them we read them and respond to the comments on them. That is what we did in the begining. Now we are writing and responding(communicating) to students at Georgia State University. We are giving them advice for being teacher-to-be. While we are doing that we're learning hoe to blog.Blogging is when you read a post and write the URL and make a hyperlink to it. Then after that we write what we like about it. We write how we feel about the writing and what is our opinion about what they wrote about. Then we post on our weblog. That is what I've learned so far.

Explain what you think was very fasinated about what I've learned.

Learning From My Friends

Today I read a post from my friend Alejandra it was called Webbloging.

The post I read was a good post which made me really think. The post made me think that I need to check my work for spelling mistakes.

This quote is from Alejandra's writing:

" and people would see your mistakes."

I like the post because it looks like she really put her best foot forward and really stuck her writing out. I think that the post could be very useful to students who really like to preview their writing. She really thought about what a good thing to do if you want people to like your writing. I really think that people should use her advice and their writings would be fantastic.

DearTeacher-To-Be-

Dear -Teacher-To-Be,

Hi how are you doing? Me, I'm fine. My name is Maria and I'm 12 years old. I'm in the 5th grade. Mrs. Davis is my technology teacher, in other words, she is my computer teacher. If you're planning on being a teacher you could probably learn many things from her. She helps students to learn in different ways like this morning she told us to look at the dry erase board and imagine a mouse. What color it is. The mouse runs a track to get your mind and your body working.  She said that it helps you to get ready for the lesson; it’s like a warm up. It gets your brain warmed up to get in a learning mood. If you want to be a teacher, you need to have respect for your students like their family. If they need help then help then in a patient way. If you want them to respect you then you need to respect them. I learned that in 3rd grade because my teacher was nice to everyone in her class and all the students were nice to the teacher. It's also good to be the student’s friend, if they need you for something then help them in any way you can. Also you can show them extra ways to learn and show them shortcuts to different subjects if you know some shortcuts. My 5th grade teacher is named Mrs. Mateling and she shows us many shortcuts and better ways for math. If you want to be a math teacher Mrs. Mateling can show you many ways. But I know that you probably don’t know Mrs.Mateling but you probably know some shortcuts because if you in college you’re a very smart person. I bet you can probably teach them things that you have learned from. I hope that you become a good teacher.

Your friend

                                                                             Maria
