With the hot presidential election fast approaching, our classroom has been buzzing with discussion about the qualities of a good president. After reading the book So You Want to Be President by Judith St. George, my students wrote paragraphs about presidents.
I Want to Be President. Do You?
I want to be president because no woman has been president. To be president you must have patience and do lots of hard work for the country. That’s one reason why I want to be president. You can be musical. I would love to live in the White House. I have a different personality from everyone else. Finally, you must be true to yourself. Christina
Do You Know How to Be a President?
Do you know how to be a president? It might be helpful that your name is James. Quite a few presidents have had this name. You could live in a white house and play lots of games. You have to do lots of homework and go to meetings. You don’t have to be rich. Being a president is hard. You have to be true to yourself. Lillian
Being president is a very hard job. You have to be elected to become president. If you want to be president, you have to be nice. You have to sign papers for the nation. You always have to go to important meetings. You have to live in the White House so you can protect it from thieves. You always have to do a lot of homework. You always have to wear a uniform. You always have to fly in Air force One to different places. Sometimes you have to go to debates and answer questions. You always have to be generous. Edward
If I was president, I would do whatever I can do to help the world. I would have lots of work to do day and night. I would have to have important meetings and live in the White House. I would be considerate to others. I would go places and represent to the U.S.A. Jordan
