Hundreds of people lined up at Grand Central Terminal yesterday to catch a train. On the train they went to New York City's famous railroad station to trade a one dollar bills in for a new one dollar coin. The mint willl issue for presidential one dollar coins a year through 2016. The Georgia Washington coin is the first one released. Each coin will have a different president on each sides, and it will show the names of the presidents. Becky Cross 16, was one of the first people to put a presidential coin in her pocket. The coins aren't just for collectors. The new presidential one dollar coins are an educational and fun way to learn about former presidents. FUN FACTS
- There will be one presidential one dollar coin for each president, exept Grover Cleveland. He will have two because Cleveland is the only president that served two nonconsecutive terms.
- A president cant have there name on a coin if they are alive. A president must deceasded for two years before they can be on a coin. .
Hi Lindsey,
I had just heard about these coins and now have learned so much more from you! I never considered they might be used in educational ways. Thank you for including that in your post!
Have you seen one of the new dollars?
You've really chosen an engaging title and pulled in your reader in your first sentences! This post is an important one. I wondered if spell checking your post once again wouldn't make it all that much better?
Best,
Lani

Lani,
So you have ordered some coins from the mint? I really think that you can post about that or you can send the pictures to Mrs.c. She would really like that and so would the rest of the class.
