My year in blogging is almost up! I can't believe it's almost time for me to move on to the next grade! How in the world has this year in blogging gone by so fast? I even can remember my first day in blogging as if it was just yesterday! By the way, my first day in blogging was a blast! So I'll tell you about it.
The whole class pushed and shoved into the computer room to see what treasure lied ahead! Once we all finally got in the room and found a seat, a woman appeared in the doorway. This lady had short dirty blond hair and a nice pleasant smile. She walked in with an anxious look on her face. All I could think was "Who in the world was this lady?"
With a loud firm voice she said, "Good Morning!" And all at once my classmates and I echoed back to her "Good Morning!"Then she continued and explained, "My name is Mrs.C and I'm your blogging teacher." Then Mr.C told us about herself. And that took a while, trust me! After she was through talking about herself she explained everything to us about blogging! We all listened as if she was telling us that we were from a different world and that we were aliens!
Then we started to tell Ms.D, Mrs.C's assistant, what type of background we wanted to use for our web page. (Ms.D had short black hair and a smile that could light the world!) After that we told Mrs.C what we would like our fake names to be. And I picked the name....... Victoria. Then Mrs.C said "I'm so excited that you are now bloggers!" Then she said "It's time to go!" Then we rushed out of the room thrilled to know we all were bloggers now!
Ever since my first day of blogging I have been learning to write, read, use descriptive words, and to do better in my writing! My teachers and I have seen a big improvement in my writing! But one of my favorite post I've written would have to be the one called "A Whole New World Found By A Girl". You may wonder why my favorite post is this one! Well I like this post because it shows how I have made mistakes and corrected them. And this post is something I liked from the first word I wrote to the last word I wrote!
There has been some things in blogging that I didn't expected. Like when I made this wonderful post that I had checked over twice and I thought it was perfected. But then a couple days later I got a comment that said that I had a few mistakes in my post! I was devastated! So I found the mistakes and fixed them. That day I learned that you can get a friend to check over your work too, because four eyes are better than two eyes any day!
One thing I enjoy doing in blogging is commenting! I like commenting to other people because you get a chance to see what others are writing about and tell them why you like their writing! And I also like getting comments because you can learn what you can do better on by other readers!
To make your writing perfect you have to use six main things! These things are called the six traits of writing which are... Ideas, Conventions, Voice, Sentence Fluency, Word Choice, and Organization! You can find out more about these things if you go to our class blog! But any ways, the six traits of writing have helped me learn how to write better. The six traits of writing are the main things you need to have a good story!
Even thought blogging can be easy sometimes it can also be hard at other times. For example, one hard time that I've had in blogging is not knowing what I should write about. Doesn't it frustrate you when you don't know what to write about? And one thing that I do not like about blogging is that when you get hooked on what your writing about, sometimes you have to stop and leave blogging class right in the middle of doing something. And when you start off from where you had began last time you forget what you were writing about! It really burns me up that we only have a little bit of time in blogging class. But overall, I think that we should continue blogging in schools because you are learning as your blogging. And because you are being rewarded with comments from your good stories you want to continue blogging. I hope blogging continues in schools.
Why we should blog in schools you may ask? We'll we should blog in schools because blogging is an interesting and wonderful way of learning! And I myself have noticed that I am learning to type faster and write better essays!
