We have been going crazy with idioms so for our homework we did idioms that would go with class.J
1.)If you didn't do your weblog homework than get ready to bite the bullet and put your shoulder to the wheel.
2.)I don't think anyone is the black sheep of the group.
3.)There's almost a bakers dozen in the blog class.
4.)Mrs.A hits the roof when barely anybody does their homework.
5.)Some days we go bananas when we get excited about weblogs.
Hi Emmy,
These are wonderful descriptions!! I love the picture I get of Mrs. A "hitting the roof"!!
Which is your favorite?
Best,
Lani

I love your examples of idioms. I used to teach Mexican immigrants English and they always had the hardest time grasping idioms. Did your class research the origin of these idioms? How do you think “bite the bullet” ever became a common saying?

Blythe,
Actually Blythe no we did not research the origin of those idioms. I don’t know but I think it may have became a famous saying because a lot of people may have gotten in trouble so that may have been a reason.
