Take a Stance

Coming soon......

Sometimes you just have to take a stance. An issue comes up that you feel very strongly about. Taking a stance means that you, the writer, take a position on an issue. Your writing may begin with "I agree or I disagree that..." You might use the words "support" or "oppose."

You must give reasons to support the stance you take. Reasons can include specific facts as well as examples from your own personal experience. Your writing needs to be logical and organized so that it does not not jump around.

You will write for the audience that you are trying to persuade so the words you use need to be understood by them. Your language choices will help influence the reader to agree with you.

Be thinking about an issue you would like to take a stance on.

I know you have strong opinions but can you persuade???????
