My Thank You

I’d like to thank all the people who thought I could pass 5th grade. That is why I am making this post.

So first I’d like to thank Mrs. Smith for saying this: You know that you can do anything that you are willing to put forth a little more effort than maybe what most kids seem to. That made me feel great about myself and that I could do anything if I just put some effort into it.

Next I’d like to thank Ms. Roper for telling me: I’ll be cheering for you and I bet that all of your teachers at House will be too! That made me feel like I had many friends by my side at all times.

Also I’d like to thank Sam D for this: I am told all the time that I can't spell my way out of a paper bag, you know what... it's true. I think it’s good for someone to admit that they had a problem.

Now I’d like to thank N. McKeand for giving me these words: Just work hard and don't be afraid to ask for help from your teacher when you need it. I think that is very true many children are afraid to ask for help from their teacher so it’s good to ask when you need help.

I’d like to thank Mrs.Peddle telling me this: You seem very smart and insightful to me. That is very special that you told me that it makes me feel good about myself thank you Mrs.Peddle.

Next on my list to thank is Mr.Kuropatwa for his saying this: It takes great strength of character to overcome the foolish and hurtful comments that people sometimes make. You are right about that it does take great strength to overcome something like that that is way I remember that till this day what he told me is hurtful but it does give me strength to try to overcome anything in school. That is why I am thanking you.

Next is Steve Dembo he told me: Because you have several friends here in Chicago, Illinois who enjoy reading your work and share it with each other. Thank you for telling me that it’s good to know that there are people in different places I can depend on.

Now I’d like to thank Pat Street for these words: I really think that people are either good spellers or terrible spellers for life. This made me think if I am a good speller or not hmmmm… So like I was saying thanks a lot.

Next I’d like thank Tim Merritt for saying this: That change comes from *you*, not from what he said. These words really helped this made me realize that my brother can’t make a change in me only I can.

Now it is Mrs.Hooper’s turn she said this: Your attitude is and always has been terrific! Thank you so much for your kind words most people say I got a bad attitude but I see that you don’t think that so I am thanking you for that.

Now Collin Bonner here is my thank you to you for this: Reading will be one of the most rewarding skills you will learn and the more you practice the better you will be. I always think that if you don’t succeed at first then try again till you get it. Thanks for your encouraging words.

Last but not least Paula Willis for these words: You're going to be a good student in the SIXTH GRADE next year! I chose these words because you think I can pass this grade and I thank you for that very much.

Now the last person to thank is Kathryn Blades for these final words: You get better when you practice. I think this is a good saying because my parents always say that and I think my parents are very wise.

Now I’d like to thank once again all of the people who I say thank you to today for telling me that I can pass any task that comes my way I just got to try my best.

5th Grade

The main thing I'm passionate about is passing fifth grade. The only reasons are because my brother said I'm going to fail all the grades. I plan to get smarter. So now I am planning to pass every grade. I already started to make good grades so I'm confident that I'm going to pass. The main topics I'm felling is Spelling, and Reading. If I could pass those and pass fifth grade I could prove to my brother that I'm not stupid. If you have an older brother or sister tell  you this one time or if he or she treated you bad or good, you just got to get over it and do the best you can in school that is what I am going to do.

Here's a quote from Cara's Thoughts:

I found out that to her a good teacher must be prepared, rewarding, and know how to relate to each student in his or her classroom.

I thought that this is a good way of recognzing students.Children are over looked by many people. It's like no child has a voice but you noticed one. You didn't look overlook one.  Some children's vote dosen't matter. Some are left out of many things. That is why most children run away from home. That is why I think all children should be recognzied. So thats my opinion. I don't want to change it.

Weblog Report

Being in the weblog group these past few months has been a great thing. This group proves to me that there are many things I still don't know. When I first came to this group I didn't know how to do  that much. But thanks to all the friends I made they showed me how to do more. I thought I might be helpless but I got enough help. Mrs.Davis the group teacher taught us how to blogg and how to get to typepad. Typepad is were we write all the post we do at home for homework. She tells us what our work will be, but usually we write one whole page and the next time we come to the group we write our homework on our weblog. She also taught us how to hyperlink. Thats when we go to someone's weblog copy some words from there and put it in our writing and when it's posted all we have to do is press on the words we took from there and it will take you to that persons weblog. If you really liked my story don't sit down and read mine. Go join and you will see how fun this is for yourself.

The Tsunami

An article that I just read was about the horrible tsunami that hit southeast Asia.I got this statement from the Global Gang:

The tsunami destroyed everything in its path in the town of Moratuwa.

Many people lost their home, family, friends, and belongings. Many people were badly hurt by this wave of death.

This makes me feel bad about the people who lost their family in this horrible accident I always think to myself.  What if it was me?  What if I lost my family in the accident? That's why I feel bad for these people and I hope they get better.

Dear-Teacher-To-Be

Dear Teacher-To-Be,

My name is Patrick from the weblog group. If you're going to be a good teacher you have to be nice to your students. If you respect them, they'll respect you. Most students don't like to be bossed around so much, so if they do something bad don't be so hard on them. Help them understand what they did wrong. Try to be a funny teacher who will make them laugh so if they're mad it might help them forget why they were so mad. Also try to learn as much as you can about your students. Try sitting with them at lunch so you can learn more about them. Try sitting with at least every one of them over the weeks.. Be just like my teacher, Mrs.Mateling. She taught my brother and mother when they were in fifth grade. Mrs.Mateling is a good example of an good teacher. She's really nice to most of us, well all of us. She is really funny and she tries to get to know all about us. You try to be like Mrs. Mateling and you'll be a good teacher too. Also I forgot you should do fun activites with your students. Sometimes let them do group work to keep them happy and they'll like you alot. That's all I have to say so bye!

Wrinkle Face Dinosaur

A long time ago a dinosaur with an armored face and many veins and arteries walked the earth. This dinosaur lived in Africa.

This is true because that were the scientists who found it .The dinosaur was 30 feet long and also known as 9 meters long.

Sounds like a good hunting dinosaur, right ?  Wrong. This dinosaur doesn’t hunt. He eats animals that are all ready dead .The man who discovered dinosaur is Sereno and his team found it in the remote part of the Sahara in Niger. Sereno and his team called it the Rugops primus, which means "first wrinkle face".
