Children in the Tsunami

The children in the tsunami have suffered a lot. They have gone through starvation and they don't have places to sleep in.The United Nations estimated at least 150,000 people that died. 50,000 of them were children. Most of them were too small to run or hold on to something. Their homes were destroyed and they are afraid they will be abused. some of them are orphans because they have lost one or both parents. In Sri Lanka 170 schools were damaged and closed. They say rebuilding the schools would take months. Counselors say that in order for the kids to forget their disgrace they have to play. The people of the U. S. have sent toys and money hoping they could make those countries better. the kids have been scared for life and they may never forget it. Write a short paragraph about something awful that has happened to you.
