Weblogging with idioms is very exciting. Last week we got to write sentences with them. It makes your writing more juicy, fun, and exciting. When you use idioms in a long paragraph if you take it literally it sounds pretty funny. You can have a good laugh, but when you know what it means it surprises you. One that I like is “call the shots”. It means to be in charge and to give orders. Using idioms in your writing is very helpful. Hopefully you will use them more often.
Hi Paulina,
Thank you for the wonderful advice! I am planning on becoming a 3rd or 4th grade teacher and I also believe teachers should be kind and always use humor in the classroom. I also am a big fan of games in the classroom and would love any ideas you have of any specific games I could use.
Good luck in the remainder of fifth grade!
All my best,
Ms. Mayne
