Honesty

Honesty: truthfulness and sincerity

Being honest is telling the truth and helps you feel good inside. Did you know that when you tell the truth about a situation that you find yourself in, you usually get into less trouble? If you are honest about things that happen, it keeps innocent people from being blamed or punished. You can learn good lessons from it. If you are honest, you don't have to worry about keeping your story straight. And the very best part about being honest is that your friends and teachers will look up to you and want you as a friend because they will trust and respect you.

Over the years, I have seen lots and lots of honest people here at J. H. House. In fact, we pride ourselves and we do believe that quote that says, "Honesty is the best policy."

I have seen these examples of honesty at J. H. House......

Jose turned into the office a dollar that he found on the cafeteria floor.

Isabel told the truth about a bus incident

Stephen kept his eyes on his own paper during a spelling test

Let's start a list of ways we see people being honest at J. H. House. We'll call it "Our Honesty Complement List". So catch all those wonderful J. H. House students and teachers being honest! I honestly think this is going to be a long, long, long, list and that makes me feel very, very good inside. Have a great day!
