School Pride

School Pride: playing a contributing role in maintaining and improving all aspects of a school’s environment, programs and activities within the content of contributing to the betterment of the city, county and state.

Many mornings I begin the day with this announcement over our school intercom. Where is the best school that has the smartest, the kindest, the hardest working, students in the whole wide world? Then we hear the roar of every student voice as that proud cheer...........J.H. HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....... goes soaring throughout our halls. Yes, that’s the sound of the J.H. House eagles, and it makes my heart sing! We care about each other and we love our school!

One of our mottos is "Eagles don't flock, they soar!!!!!!!! We try to do our personal best and that let’s others see that we care. We are proud of our school!

Whatever it takes! That’s another school motto. Everyone does their part, both teachers and students, to do whatever it takes to make our school a place where each and every person is an important piece of what makes J.H. House special. We are connected to each other and to our school. School pride is the vehicle that lets us learn to believe in something bigger than ourselves. Our school has value. It is our home away from home, our community.

It's not just these two things but many things that make up our school pride. We are proud of our school and our students: past, present and future.

School pride is a feeling deep down inside of us. We feel it each morning when we walk through the front doors of our "House". It’s pride, it's caring, it's treating each other with respect and it holds a very special place in our hearts! So, even though you can't define it in one word, you know it when you see it, hear it and feel it. It's alive and well at J.H. House!

Faculty, staff, and students:

Can you think of examples of school pride at our school? I would love to hear your thoughts. It can be a quick write about something you experienced that made you feel school pride, it can be a story about something you saw or felt, it could even be a picture that includes a caption about school pride. Be creative! I can’t wait to hear from you!

If you are reading this weblog and not from our school and would like to leave a comment, please do. Maybe you would like to share examples of school pride that you have seen at your school or any school. We would love to hear from you!
