Hello boys & girls!
Just wanted to let you know that I miss meeting with you this week but I think it is great that your schools have decided to close for election day. Thanks to unprecedented turnout for Georgia’s advance voting, 2 million people won’t have to go to the polls on Election Day. Wow!
You may have seen some of the long lines of people taking advantage of the early voting. Thirty-one states offer this option and it seems that people are really taking advantage of this option. Voting is good!
As I listened to the news this morning I learned about some interesting polling locations. New Jersey and Nevada offer voting at mall locations. California has drive-through voting. In Georgia you can get a flu shot and vote at the same place. I'm all for anything that makes it easier for citizens to vote. Don't you agree?
This is an important day for our nation. Soon we will know who our new President will be!
I hope you enjoy your day off and I look forward to seeing you again next week!

Hi, JHH 5th graders! I am a retired teacher in the state of GA. I was wondering what you thought about the election that took place Nov. 4, 2008? How do you think it will affect you and your family? Is there a part of President-Elect Obama's campaign that you would like to see him inact as soon as he can?
Be sure to tell Mrs. Davis that I blogged with you! I hope to hear back from you! Keep up your super writing and reflective thoughts! Mrs. Marcia Mateling

Hi, JHH!
Yes, I love retired life! After 32 years of teaching, I love the peace! We live in Cornelia, GA. Can your students find it on a GA map? Are we north or east or south or west of JHH?
Here is a brainstormer question for the bloggers at JHH! We live right on the Chattahoochee River. We are in the middle of a drought here. The effects of this drought affects the Atlanta area also. Why and how?
Can't wait to hear your ideas!

Hi Mrs. Marcia Mateling
I did not like the election because he has not had much experience. As John McCain.

Hello Marcia,
I found where you live. I think that you are north-east from us. I'm not sure. It's so confusing. Do you know how I know? Well, I went "google earth." I hope you know how to find it, because I'm not sure if you go to "googleearth.com" you get there. I didn't really go there. I just had to go to our home page. Then I went to start, programs, research, and google earth. Maybe you have that on your computer. Do you? Type me back, please.

Hello Marcia,
I found where you live. You live northeast from where I live. At first when I read that you lived in Cornilia, I thought you weren't in Georgia. You are right we have been having droughts in the Atlanta area.In the year of 2008 Georgia had a drought, so we had to conserve water. Water is very important in our lives. We need water to drink, even to grow food.
Hoping you right back,
Thalia

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your content seem to be running off the screen in Safari. I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I figured I'd post to let you know. The layout look great though!
