Up and going!

Well, most of you have two posts under your belt now and are beginning to learn how to navigate around the different blogs. We've updated your blogs with some new connective links and I know we will have some exciting days ahead.

Mrs. Emmert wants you to have some quality time to view Harley's "I Am" poem so you can respond with care. She is going to try to schedule some more time in the lab this week. I am impressed with how well all of you are doing. Can you believe how fast the time zips by? It feels like we just get going and then we have to stop! Blogging is a lot of fun!

A couple of minor things to remember...

• Leave a space after a period - it makes for easier reading.
• Blogging has two g's. Remember double the last consonant - listen to this song.
• Capital letters!!!!!! No instant messaging in our blogs, right?
• Watch your punctuation - periods, question marks, commas! All this spells DO YOUR PROOFREADING!

Are you ready to blog?

Today is an exciting day! You will be getting your blogs and start off by introducing yourself! We have had several sessions building up to this. We worked through all the sessions on the "Blogging: It's Elementary!" webquest. I have been very proud of you and I know you will be terrific bloggers.

Wasn't it great to meet Harley? Wow! I think you set a record for conversations back and forth. My last count was 79 comments on his "Woofing a great big welcome!!!" post. Then we have met some new friends from New Zealand at Room 7 Tamaki Primary School and Tamaki Primary School Writers Group.

What is reflection?

Reflections help your learning. It is a way to make sense of what you are learning. Have you ever thought about how you learn? Think of times, either inside or outside of school, where you learned something really well. What helped you learn?  Was it the place? Was it the teacher? Was it your motivation? Was it your attitude? Was it something else?
