Do you ever wish that you were just a little bit skinnier? Many T.V.s, radio stations, movies, and magazines use ''perfect'' people to advertise. Overweight people think that they have to look just like those ''perfect'' men and women. The overweight person knows and believes that he/she could never look that way so they get depressed and start eating and eating and eating.
Many children have been struck with obesity and others tend to make fun of them. In many communities, especially in schools, the Heath Care departments are checking the food. Many schools have had to change their food products because it is unhealthy for the children.
Obesity can be dangerous health wise and by people making fun of you. If you get extremely obese to where you have problems breathing , you...have...a...problem. The fat in your body can clog up blood cells flowing to the brain and the the heart. Now what I was saying about people making fun of you was that, my teacher told me a heartbreaking story that I will never forget. "That just goes to show you how cruel people can be,'' said my teacher after she told me the story.
Some people can be very cruel even if it is a problem that you can or can not help, other people in life will make fun of you. Don't let it get the best of you!!! Trust me, you'll be OK!!! Write back to me and tell me your feelings if you were obese.
Excellent topic and top-notch writing! You have written about a topic that is on lots of minds and you have shown compassion in your writing. I'm going to share that with Mrs. Hooper because she told me that she will be discussing compassion soon on her weblog. Why don't you hop over to her weblog and make a comment on one of her good posts?

Hi Shelby, I was so impressed with your blog on compassion. You show a lot of insight for someone so young. You know, I've often thought that people would behave differently toward others if they would just stop and think how that person feels. I know you are a good friend to have because it sounds as thought you judge others by what is on the inside and not their outward appearance. Good for you!

Thanks Mrs. Hooper. You are very right when you said that it is good to judge people by the inside, and not out. I was watching a hospital show just the other day and I saw a man. This man had a birth mark that took up half of his face. On one side of his face it looked normal but on the other, it was larger than the normal one!!!! Whoooo, that took a lot of my breath away!!! I wished that I could of been his friend!!
