Lights... Camera...Learn...!!!

Today when we first walked into weblogging class, Mrs. Davis told us that we needed to start on our comments. I was tickled pink when I read my blog, because I had read a great comment, a comment that meant a lot to me. Addie, who commented me, was a teacher-to-be.

You see the week before, we had to write a post giving a teacher-to-be some advice. She told me that she would use the things that I had recommended she do. So then, Mrs. Davis let me write back to her to tell her how I felt.

First, Mrs. Davis let us respond to our comments. She also gave the class an URL address so we could go to the

Georgia

State

weblog. She gave us a name and that was the person we had to respond to. Then, we had to select a part of the blog that we liked. This was hard for me because I liked all of it!!!! Next, we had to go to Microsoft Word to respond to their writing. We are using word because this part in blogging is a new skill. We always practice before we launch off. I got a woman named Alex. I told her my true feelings about her writing. Also, we learned how to link one specific post to the weblog so others could see it. We learned that hyperlinks can be used on webloggs by using the URLs.

I had a wonderful time learning something new!!! Here is an example of what I have been talking about…

Teacher-to-Be:

I really enjoyed to read the advices that Jhonatan gave me. I take them very seriously, and I am impressed by his thinking skills. I am going to do my best to not disappoint him.

 Me:

I really love it when teachers (or teachers-to-be) trust student’s thoughts and use them. I was so happy when you said that you took Jhonathan’s thoughts seriously, I know that meant a lot to him, it meant a lot to me too. I am almost positive that if you just be yourself and use his advice, you will be a great teacher. 

Dear Teacher-to-Be,

          Hi, my name is Shelby and I'm in fifth grade. I am ten years of age and I love to write. I am a very, very athletic girl and I play softball. Right now, I am playing fast pitch softball. Trust me it is hard!!! Every single time I walk up to the plate, I get a little scared. It's because the ball is coming at you pretty darn fast! In slow pitch softball, I was the best hitter in the whole leauge!!! It's hard to move from one thing to another. That's why I am writing to you today.

          There is one thing that you must, must do!!! You must make learning FUN!!! I have a lot of experince with this. Many students think school is boring. Here's some advice, try to make your students laugh, never pop a quiz without talking to the class about it, and make sure you relax and have fun!!!

           There is one class that is right down the hall from my classroom. This class is always laughing! We can always hear them when they are haveng a good time!!! There is another class where the teacher has a multiplication rap  song !!! When my class is learning something new, we hear the class shouting " Seven times six is forty-two!!!" It really gets me into a better mood when I hear or see someone having fun!!

          In the past, some of my teachers have given us a studyguide at the end of class that was blank! Not only did we have to fill it in, but we also had to study it! You know, we could have been studying the wrong answers!

           Out of all of the things that I have said, relax, and have fun!!!

         

         

My Best Friend, Mrs. Buckaroo

“Oh yeah”, I told my best friend Holly. She had just told me that her brother Larry was taking karate. “I think that’s a pie in the sky”. “Your brother wouldn’t even hurt a fly”, I exclaimed. We were at school the day she told me the news.

Five minutes later, a boy tripped and spilt milk all over her new shirt. “Now I look even uglier!” she cried. “Stop talking like that, that’s just mumbo jumbo!”

So, as we were walking down the hall, we saw a boy that looked like a buckaroo! He was as cute as a bugs ear! He told us that he had an extra shirt Holly could borrow. Then, he pulled me over to the side and said that he was only doing it because he liked Holly. “keep this information off the record”, he told me. I agreed and he handed Holly the shirt. I was building brownie points for the rest of the year.

From then on, the look on the buckaroo’s painted a thousand words whenever he saw Holly. She later on found out his true feelings about her. That’s how she became Mrs. Buckaroo.

West Nile

     The strong, West Nile Virus has hit 18 out of the 50 states. Many more states have patients that might be carrying the virus. Right now, it's hard for scientists to find more medicines that could cure the West Nile. It's hard because out of all of the preparing (or getting ready for the virus), these hard working people have ran out of the vaccines. Many people have been "running" for their lives. Don't worry, if you're around someone who has the virus, you won't catch it! The only ways that I know if it going from one person to the other is by saliva, possibly a person's blood ,and mosquitoes. Some people really don't understand just how serious it is to have West Nile!

     It is very dangerous and you could die from having the West Nile Virus!

Oompa-Loompua-Looptedy-Doo

           One morning, my toy robot woke me up and said," Wake up sleeply head." " Today we are going on an adventure." I was totally shocked, for what I heard was comming out of a toy. I was wondering what he meant by "adventure", for I had two feelings inside of my empty little head. "Are we going to a dangerous place?", I could feel my nerve system tremble. " Are we going to party all night long?", I could hear my empty brain blurb.

          See, I am a total pain to my parents and to all of my teachers. Oh yeah, hi , my name is Kathy L. " The L stands for LOUDMOUTH", my big sister Susie always says. Do you know how alot of kids want to be like their big brother or big sister? Well, not me!!! I would rather roll in the mud like a pig than be like her. That's because all she does is stand infront of the mirror for a billion hours each day, and when she's not doing that, she is yabber jabbering away on the phone.

         Oh man, I always get off track!!!(like I am now) Anyway, back to what I was saying a munuite ago, I was excited and ready to go when I heard the word "adventure". Well, guess what? The little pip-squeak took me to a stupid barn!!!! Can you believe that?! I was sooooo mad that day that I wished I was contaminated with posin so I could kill the little dude! But, inside the barn was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!!! The little umpa- lumpa shorties were waddling around all over the place. Now, to me, that was the greatest freak show I had ever seen!!! That,... was ,... my,... great,... ADVENTURE!!!!!

I'm Going Idiom Crazy
