This is such a bright little group.  They are thoughtful thinkers and our group discussions are getting better.  Now is the time though for us to put our "shoulder's to the wheel" and work on some major editing and producing stronger writing.  If all goes well, technology-wise, we will be creating student blogs this week.  I'm thinking that I will teach them how to copy from this group blog to their blog, and then we will begin the process of proofing work, peer-editing, and giving more thought to the writing.  Their homework was to bring in a short piece on something that had happened in the news.  I'm looking forward to seeing them tomorrow!

The Georgia State University students wrote as back! I was very delighted to hear want they wrote. THANK YOU so much for visiting our school and also thank you for writing back to us.

 

I read what a student said "Can I come and teach there?" That student was Frances Wiley. It would be a great to have you teach our school. I wanted to thank Brenda Wheeler for the comment she made about!!!!! A especial thank to Brenda. Many students said that they liked CNN. Thanks again!! I hope they come back again.

I am astonished that 32 GSU students responded to our questions.  When I read comments about our school it made me feel proud to know that our school is really that special.

I was partnered with Juana when we read the comments. I read a lot of "Thank you for a wonderful experience!" and that made me feel tickeled pink! I remember reading....."Words cannot express how impressed I am with the students at J. H. House Elementary! I have never seen such well-behaved and bright students! You guys were so welcoming, friendly, and polite. I truly look  forward to visiting again. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!" from Drew Nichols. I also appreciated how everyone work together

THANKS!! GSU students for the comments. They were every nice. Thank you for the comments about the school...and how we were behaved and the types of thinking skills we had. And thanks for responding back. Mary Beth, I'm looking foward to going to your website, and it sounds pretty good. I think that your comments were awsome,well thought out,and delightful. Cyndee Thomas thanks for your comment about our school being like Disney World. That was a awsome way of comparing us. You guys are really smart and smart. I'm glad you came I had a wonderful time.

This October  Emily   was  my  partner.  They  talk  about  the  teachers and how  Mrs.   Anthos  Art  class  works. First,  they  do things  with  mud.  She tell us  how  they  do  first  and  they  talk   about  Mrs.  Goode and  how  she can  sing very  well.  She  tells  how  they  play.

I am tickled pink about what you all said about the school. Everybody said that there was an extensive amount of technology use in the school. 

I remember that Nina A. Clem said "I really enjoyed being in the computer lab at the school... looking at all the big names in American politics and life in general... that was a learning experience for me!" I really wish other schools could have the same privilege. In the near future I know that this technology will be needed.

Rebecca Harris said, ãThank you House Elementary students and staff for such a great experience! It was so wonderful to see everyone so enthusiastic about school... you really have raised the bar on how I think an ideal school should look.

As for the interview, you guys came up with some wonderful, thought-provoking questions! I truly enjoyed meeting Emily and Juana, two sweet young ladies that did an excellent job interviewing us. I know it probably wasn't easy but I think you guys did a super job! You are ready for middle school! ;) Good luck with the rest of the school year and keep up all your hard work. Thanks again! ãI call that a complement to the whole school.

J.H. House puts forward a lot of effort to accomplish what we have at our school and I'm glad people notice it. I love all your comments to complement the school and the children and I hope you'll teach at this school some day. I won't be surprised if you all taught at J.H. House.

The teachers give a big part in our school and also help us to behave. I want to thank all of you who reviewed and I hope you will drop by again!

I am shocked that all of you actually responded our questions. I never expected that you would actually going to write back beacause usally visitors come and go and we never hear anything about them any more.It would be really cool if we kept in touch.

 

I was really questioned because most of the girls said they where impressed of the way we behaved. I was wondering what could the kids have done to get in trouble.

Some girls who were going to be teachers visited us. they wre smart. they answered questions. I didn't understand that well because they were talking in English. It was a good experience listening to the English.

I was really fasenated by what the college wrote about the interviews. One said she especially loved the one that I wrote.  The statement I wrote was "The GSU students looked scary at first then they turned nice. Other GSU students commented on the other Wrinkles about what they wrote. Some GSU students couldn't make it to the interview. It was frightning talking to them. They made me comfertable by being nice and friendly.

Responses of GSU Students

     I read the comments of the GSU students and I had a magnificent feeling. I was excited about hearing from them. They answered each question that we asked and they thought in a group which was to me remarkable. Let me explain what group discussion is about. In a group effort you have to think of ideas and other group members should cover you up with some details and you should also look back at the notes that you have and just try to come up with the best response or answer and that is what group discussion is about. The GSU taught me something at that moment and I might try that next time.

 

     Peggy Wesley said, "One person asked me what was your favorite part of the day? and I don't think I could answer to that question."  Peggy said that she liked every part of the day. The GSU students were intelligent. They were the best part of the day for me but that's my opinion about the day that I had with them and I thought it was exciting. I hope you can come back some day. :-)
