Weblogs

Have you ever wonder how fun is to have a weblog? Well, I do. I am in a group called the wrinkles. We have lots of fun. Our teachers are Mrs.Davis and Mrs.Smith. Every time we are going to do something Mrs. Davis says break a leg with your work. Sometimes when I forget my homework I burn the midnight oil. When Mrs.Davis asked me something in front of the group I fell butterflies in my stomach. I am champing at the bit so it gets to be 8:30 A.M. Sometimes the group, does not want to talk, we clammed up. Every time we don't talk loud Mrs.Davis says "Come again?" The homework is easy as pie.

We also got a friend her name is SuperThinker. I am down in the dumps when she does not write to me. I want every Tom, Dick, and Herry to write to us. Wrinkles is the best of the four corners of the earth.

Exploring Mars

The good news keeps coming in. On Sunday at 12:05 A.M. Opportunity, the second of two exploring robot rovers landed on Mars. NASA has been working hard to make the Mars mission a success and it seems to be paying off. Scientist soon recieved data and photographic images of Mars' landscape and setting soon to scientist 106 million miles away on Earth. Scientist believe that if they find areas where there was once water on the planet, they also find evidence of past life on Mars. Some scientists think that the now cold and dry Mars, could have been warm and wet enough to have supported life. Earth, a day lasts 24 hours. On Mars a day lasts 24 hours 39 minutes and 35 seconds. Every 36 days on Earth, Mars time falls 24 hours, or one Earth day behind. The mission the Mars had cost about $820 million. Can you imagine $820 million dollars? Would you like to know if there was once life in Mars?

Mars

Did you have a good vacation? I did.

Today I am writing about an article that I found on the Internet. It was on Scholastic News.

Here comes my paragraph.

On Tuesday January 6 they sent a machine to Mars. The process will take 9 or 10 days, and then the Rover will begin to roam around Mars.

Many people were anxious to be there. They wanted to see the video from the machine on Mars.

Do you think people will learn about Mars?  Do you think the money that was spent was useful?  Why?

Do You Have Time to Smell the Roses?

How is life for you? Life for me is very hard, well, not all the time.

The hardest thing is language arts. All that about nouns, verbs, pronouns, adjectives makes me feel confused. When I have a test and I have to circle or underline all the verbs, nouns, pronouns and adjectives I feel "butterflies in my stomach." (butterflies in my stomach doesn't mean i have or feel butterflies) That's an idiom for "I am nervous."

The easiest thing is writing. I am not that good but I love to write stories. All the stories I have written in class with Mrs. Mateling I got Bs. It is not that bad but I always expect an A+. The story I am making this week with Mrs. Henning is "Pumpkin Patch". I already have a lot of ideas but I am trying to get organized.

Another favorite and easy thing to do is to draw. Everybody knows how to draw stick people. My uncle is in high school. He is a great drawer. He always gets angry when I draw my stick people. He wants me to draw perfectly.

That's all I can say. Now I hope you enjoy this story.

Poem - I Am From

Hello! Today I am going to type the first draft of my poem . The title is I Am From. We have to start with the words  I am from in each sentence.

  • I am from a place where people share what they know.
  • I am from a hot weather.
  • I am from a house where my family listens to me.
  • I am from a dad and a mom who care about me.
  • I am from a house where I can hug and kiss my baby sister.
  • I am from a house where I fight with my sister.
  • I am from a family where they give me a lot of love.
  • I am from a place where there is always something to do.
  • I am from a school where I learn new things everyday.
  • I am from the best parents.
  • I am from a place where memories are made.
  • I am from a place where I can have a lot of friends.
  • I am from a great cooking mom.
  • I am from a school where I can always say "I can do it!"

Mrs.Davis' Post

Hello! Here I am again.Today when we got to class Mrs.Davis read us the letter she wrote to the group "Think Possibilities." It was a very neat letter. Mr.Richardson also sent a letter with some tips of what he thinks blogging is. I will write them down......

#1. Find and read material that is relevant to your life.

#2. Capture the essence of this relevant reading, give credict to its source, and synthesize those ideas into piece of writing that advances a personal, perhaps greater understanding of that topic.

#3. Publish that writing for response and for perhaps pushing someone else's thinking on the subject.

#4. Read some more.

I think that those tips were great. I hope many more people write their ideas about what they think blogging is and many more! I really like that someone wrote their ideas to us. Having a weblog gives me a place to put my writing. If someone read my writing and talked about it, I would feel proud. I think I need to read a lot of interesting books, magazines and look for words in the dictionary. I like writing bcause I can express myself.
