Elementary Students Reflections on Weblogs

1.What's your favorite thing about weblogs?

What I like about weblogs is that you can choose your background and have comments.

2. How have you changed?

I have changed with my writing and punctuation errors and misprints.  I have more confidence.

3. Do you feel more confident about any of your skills: computer? Writing? Reading?Explain.

I feel more confident about my writing, reading, and how to use the weblogs because I have a good computer teacher ( Mrs. Davis).

4. Do you ever find yourself helping others to learn something? How does that feel? Is this normal?

Yes, I find myself helping others and it doesn't feel bad at all unless you screw up.

5. If an outsider visited your site, what would you hope he or she would think about it?

If someone did look at my site than I hope they say it is very good looking at the writings.

6. What skills that you have now that you didn't have are most valuable to you and why?

I think that I do have some skills that are now valuable to use because now I think I feel like a computer geek.

7. In what ways have you become a better writer?

The way that I became a better writer is that I can write a little faster than before. My ideas aren't as scrambled as they used to be.

 8. If you could start a weblog of your own, what would you write about?

If I made my own weblog than I would write about the life that I live in.

9.What did you think of the Georgia-NJ Connection?

What I thought of the Georgia-NJ Connection was that it was awesome and I liked whom I worked with.  As soon as I came into the lab the first thing I would do is to check if Dave and Vennesa B. had responded to me.

10. Did you tell anyone about your weblog? Did others read your weblog? What feedback did you get from people outside the class,if any?

I told a few people about the weblog and I got some great feedback on my weblog. One person said that I had no spelling errors and that I have been typing better.

The contents of this interview published by Derrick and Jose are solely the responsibility of the weblog authors for the posting on simulated interviews with our teachers. Statements made and opinions expressed in these interviews are based on what we believe would be the responses of our teachers. This activity was developed to help us develop good questions for interviews and then write the interview in a form that would be clear, concise, and interesting for our teacher and others to read. We, of course, are trusting that our teacher will enjoy this activity as much as we have. We really hope our teacher will agree that our answers could be her answers and will be amazed at how well we have come to know her! We would like to dedicate this post to Mrs. Barandian and say thank you for a wonderful year.

What I did Over Spring

What I did over spring break was played games and play Nerf guns and others. Me and my friends were bragging me on to stay for a couple of days to spend the night with them to play and all kinds of fun video games to play so we could beat the levels on Jedi Outcast. My mom said no and now my friends are mad at me. Now the final minutes were counting down and at 9:00 it was over school started again and my friends forgave me for not spending time with them and they started to come over. One of my friends is still mad at me for what, I don't know exactly.

Haiku in the News

Today I am going to post a haiku poem about an article telling about concorde planes not up and running or in commissioned air ports that people used to fligh in just a short time. The article was found in Time for Kids, the title was Bye, Bye Concorde.   A Haiku is a type of poem and this is how you start one, 5 syllables,7 syllables and 5 syllables.

                                            Here is my poem.

New York City to Europe

Flight of the future

Pneumonia Virus

Pneumonia has been striking the world in China, Japan, and Africa. People are being sick from one little virus. Do you think that it's coming from Africa?

"I am going to the U.S. to cure many people with pneumonia," said an African doctor that has been curing it for a while.

Do you think that we could be carrying the virus or disease that traveled to China, Japan, and Africa? What should we do to cure the disease or virus?

Guess where you think the pneumonia is coming from?

Thank You New Jersey

Thank you so much Dave and Vanessa for helping me on my topics and for being someone to talk to even if I don't see you in real life. I am glad that you have spent some of your time helping all of us out to get better at writing paragraphs and our topics to get done. We really appreciate you trying to help our class do the best they can get to do.

I guess this is good bye.

                                               Sincerely,

                                              Derrick
