Elementary Student's Reflections on Weblogs

1. What is your favorite thing about weblogs?

My favorite thing about weblogs is that it gives you your own  place.

2. What have you learned?

     In weblogs

I have learned what a good lead should be and what a nutgraph is.

3. How have you changed?

I have changed the way I make paragraphs and leads.

4. What will you do with what you have learned?

I hope to pass what I have learned on to other people.

5. What have been the most challenging or frustrating for you and how have you met the challenge or overcome the frustration?

The hardest thing for me was nutgraphing, and the way I figured it out was to just breathe and start all over again.

6. Can you see using weblogs in other classes? Explain. Be specific with a way you think?

I think weblogs should be in other classes because it is a fun way of learning something very important.

7. Do you feel more confident about any more of your skills: Computer? Writing? Reading? Critical Thinking? Explain.

I think that if I had to, I could write a much better story than when I first started weblogs  because now I know how to build a sensible report.

8. Do you ever find yourself helping other to learn something? How dose that feel? Is this a normal role for you or new for you?

Sometimes I tell something that I learned that day and it feels good, but that is not my normal role.

9. If an outsider visited your site, what would you hope he or she would think about it?

I hope that if an outsider visited my site he or she would want to know how to make their own and things like that.

10.How have you integrated your learning of weblogs with any other area of your life?

I have used weblogs in fiction and non-fiction stories.

The contents of this interview published by Jacqueline and Diana are solely the responsibility of the weblog authors for the posting on simulated interviews with our teachers. Statements made and opinions expressed in these interviews are based on what we believe would be the responses of our teachers. This activity was developed to help us develop good questions for interviews and then write the interview in a form that would be clear, concise, and interesting for our teacher and others to read. We, of course, are trusting that our teacher will enjoy this activity as much as we have. We really hope our teacher will agree that our answers could be her answers and will be amazed at how well we have come to know her! We would like to dedicate this post to Mrs. Mateling and say thank you for a wonderful year.

Cinquains

Today in Mrs. Daivis's group we learned how to make Cinquains (a poem). Unlike other poems ours are about the news. I have created a poem about the army using dogs to help them find weapons and things. The name of the article that I got my information on is called Dogs help War Efforts you can find this on www.studentnewsnet.com . Anyway, back to the subject, here is my Cinquain:

Barking, Sniffing, Finding

Peading for Justice

Suspect L.E Turner pleaded not guilty. Though charged with murdering a toddler L.E.Turner pleads for justice.

The child's mom was Victoria Grace Wilkins. She was only three months old. Medical and T.B.I researches show that L. E. Turner had to have been the murderer.

Lewis E. Turner will show up in court again. But on till then he's still free!!!

   Will he murder again?

Reitive Shooting

A man charged with shooting a relative Tuesday.

"The alleged victim in this case was, if fact, the aggressor", stated Millsaps. He also said that the victim was drunk and driving, so it might have been self defense.     I think that he was doing the correct thing. I believe it was self defense, but we have to let the judge decide.

Going to War!

President Bush is declaring war on Iraq because the U.S. and some other countries are fed-up with Saddam Hussein.

Bush has had many speeches about going to war, the one on March 18, 2002 stated that "We are not having a war against the Iraq people, but against Saddam and all of his sons."

"Saddam had 12 years!", persuaded Bush, but still some people think we shouldn't go to war.  Now really people, do you actually want a second Hitler in our world?

This murderer has used biological weapons on his own people.  Now we are afraid he will use these and other weapons of mass destruction on the rest of the world!!!

I truly think that war in general is bad and everything like that, but when you start talking about killing Saddam, it puts a whole different spin on things.  I believe that we should go to war.
