Elementary Students Reflections on Weblogs

1.What's your favorite thing about weblogs?

My favorite thing about weblogs is getting to communicate with people on the internet, get mail, and have my very own website.

2.What have you learned?

I have learned how to bump up my vocabulary, how to read my mail, and respond.

3.How have you changed?

I have changed by using bumped up vocabulary, speaking mostly in complete sentences, and learning how to be patient.

4.What will you do with what you have learned?

I will teach kids and people with what I have learned, and I will use it myself.

5.What has been the most challenging or frustrating thing for you and how have you met the challenge or over come the fustration?

The most fustrating thing for me would have to be...... once while our our group was meeting and no one could login because it said you are already signed in as Lucy U.-(me) so that made me fustrated. The way I overcame the fustration is by having patience.

6.Can you see yourself using weblogs in other classes? Explain. Be specific with a way that you think they could be used.

Yes, I can see myself using weblogs in other classes, because I have had so much experience in my other class(group). I think that it could help people in everyday life.

7.Do you feel more confident about any of your skills: Computer? Writing? Reading? Critical thinking? Explain.

Yes, I do feel more confident in my skills like computer-how to have patience with a computer, writing, and how to get to the point and be specific.

8.Do you ever find yourself helping others to learn something? How does that feel? Is this a normal role for you?

Yes, I do find myself helping others alot more than usual. It (helping others) feels really good like I just made a huge difference!:), this is a normal role for me.

9.If an outsider visited your site, what would you hope he or she would think about it?

If an outsider visited my website I hope that they would really like it and maybe even join and become a member!:)

10.How have you integrated your learning of weblogswith any other areaof your life?

I have integrated my learning of weblogs in my everyday life so when I use a computer I know more.

Disclaimer

The contents of this interview published by Lucy and Leslie are solely the responsibility of the weblog authors for the posting on simulated interviews with our teachers. Statements made and opinions expressed in these interviews are based on what we believe would be the responses of our teachers. This activity was developed to help us develop good questions for interviews and then write the interview in a form that would be clear, concise, and interesting for our teacher and others to read. We, of course, are trusting that our teacher will enjoy this activity as much as we have. We really hope our teacher will agree that our answers could be her answers and will be amazed at how well we have come to know her! We would like to dedicate this post to Mrs.Mateling and say thank you for a wonderful year.

Hi! This is Lucy U. Last week we made-up some interview questions. Today we will be interviewing. I have brought a guest from my classroom to work on this project with me. We will include a disclaimer in our interview. My guest is Leslie C.! . Yeah!!!!!!!! Well, here it is.....

Lucy and Leslie's interview with Mrs.Mateling.

Lucy And Leslie: What is or was the most saddest situation that you  have ever had while teaching?

Mrs.Mateling: The most saddest situation that I have encountered while teaching would have to be seeing a student have an "A" on their Report Card and then it changed to a "F".

Lucy and Leslie: Do you think that anything should be changed at any middle schools?

Mrs.Mateling: Yes I do think somethings should be changed in Middle schools, I think that the teachers should have a heart for the children and teens and that the teachers should have a most positive attuide torwards kids.

Lucy and Leslie: What do you think is the most exciting moment while teaching at school?

Mrs.Mateling: The most exciting time would have to be 5th Grade Graduation.

Lucy and Leslie: How would you describe your life as a teacher?

Mrs.Mateling: I would describe my life very exciting and intresting.

Lucy and Leslie: What do you think about the murder on the news?

Mrs.Mateling: I think it was horrific and scary.

Lucy and Leslie: How would you describe Saddam?

Mrs.Mateling: I would describe Sadaam as rude, stupid, mean, killer, and Hitler #2.

Lucy and Leslie : If you were face-to-face with Osama  or Saddam what   would you do?

Mrs.Mateling: I would want them to have the most severe of punishments because I am such a hawk.
